| Ref letting Hudd move off the mark at PTB by several steps and then penalizes Leeds for interference. Also letting a lot of offside.
Leeds lacking ideas and let in two soft tries with poor reads from Cuthbo/Hardaker for one and Hall for the other. Forwards not laying a platform and no one creating space.
Better defense from Leeds in 2nd half apart from Hall who looks badly down on confidence. Walters did has share of tackling, Ferres bravely took the ball in knowing he would get special attention, Cuthbo, Singo and Delaney did some hard graft and swopping Burrow and Lilley was crucial as was the tenacity and effort of Keinhorst who showed what a good utility players he is.
Lilley goal kicked well and looked better at SH than at 9 and his attacking kick was well executed under pressure.
However our half back play particularly in the first half was way below the standard needed.

| Galloway and unfortunately Delaney looking like absolute plodders with the ball in hand at the moment.
A night to forget for Hall and Burrow - I'm not someone who likes to bag Burrow, but the sooner we can get Burrow back on the bench as an impact sub, the better.
In general, we just seem to lack that bit of zip and energy - they all look a bit heavy legged, but these pitches can do that....
Bring on a dry track, get some troops back, we'll be right, and better for the experience gained, particularly for the likes of Lilley.
Special mention to Singleton and Cuthbo who carried the pack tonight.

| Quote: tigertot "Apart from his kick for the try, which is the equivalent of giving a monkey a typewriter, I can't think of anything positive Lilley contributed. Burrow was shocking also apart from the last 15.'"
Lilley's four well taken goals in addition to his cool attacking kick for the crucial try were a pretty positive contribution in my book. Remember he is only 19 with little SL experience. Why pick on him when there was Hall doing his best to lose us the game and Hardaker dying with the ball more than a dozen times again.

| Ryan Hall looks to be a shadow of his former self. How many Huddersfield points were as a direct result of his defensive lapses, and that bombed try late on says it all about his game at the moment. Even his occasional runs down the wing seldom see him attempt one of his powerful hand offs, and instead it's usually a blind lob back infield in the hope that someone will catch it.
It can only improve, and a win is a win at the end of the day. Although the more I see of Gallway, the more I think he's an Aussie Ian Kirke.

| Leeds were stale in attack and looked shaky in defense the few times Huddersfield attacked the line. I don't see where wins are going to come from with the injuries and the level of performance being displayed. Only Wakefield and Hull kr seem potentially weaker. Everyone else is strong.
The injury to McGuire has exposed a big lack of direction and creativity in the centre. Sutcliffe has been in the past a supplement to mcguire/sinfield. A side act, not the main man. Lilley has played a handful of first team games. We are struggling massively in this area.
There's a good chance the next win may not come until the end of march. Next 3 are wigan saints and cas. Top 4 is going to become a bigger and harder task week by week now.
Wigan will finish top. Despite a few injuries and playing poorly they are 4/4 and have played last seasons super 8 teams. Devastating combo.

They've played 3 Super 8 teams so far (and Salford)

Yeah, so 3 out of their first 4 games have been super 8 teams, they've played poorly and they are 4/4. Pretty good recipe for finishing high up the ladder.

They did however play Catalans at home compared to us being away to them.
They did also play a Brough-less Hudds and only just edged them late on too.
Sometimes for all the recruitment, the planning, the training.....the timing of when you face certain teams can have a massive baring.

I'm not 'picking' on anyone. We are not in the school playground. Defending a HB for a few conversions is desperate stuff. Burrows & Maguire exhibited brilliance at 19, Lilley nothing but mediocrity.
FWIW Hall was dreadful, the worst game I have seen him have play. But he has shown he is the WBW for many years. Hardaker is still mentally naïve but the best FB in SL. Neither of these going to prevent Leeds retaining their crowns. Having no 7&9 will.

| I don't see Lilley's long term future at Leeds. I think he'll establish himself as a steady player then in a few years go to a wakefield or a hull KR. Potentially a team at the top end of the championship.

Had high hopes of Lilley.....sounds like the consensus is turning against him Things not looking quite so bright now for 2017.....unless we have signed Brierley of course

| Jesus Christ! People on here see the likes of Luke Gale perform good several years AFTER he's left Leeds and question why we didn't keep him and give him a try and then turn around and write off Lilley after less than a dozen games at the age of 19. (Of which he's shown up well in pretty much each showing and it could've been a draw tonight without his goal kicking btw need I remind you of Hardaker vs Warrington)

He's had some good touches here and there. Helping to set the try up against warrington, also tonights try and yes, he can kick a goal. But in reality I don't think he's got the potential to be good enough, good enough as in a haflback that can help a team to finals a trophies.

Its nothing new! A few keyboard gobs. They've always been here. They've said the same about Burrow, JJB, Mathers, Calderwood, Smudger...etc. They must have been some great players themselves!
