Garbutt was amazing, and easily man of match for me.
And the try you spoke of correct. The ref gave the try and put to video ref. I don't think he did get it down, but there was no proof of that, so it should have gone with ref decision.

| JP has been shot for a month. Not a criticism just a fact, the guy is 37 after all but glad to see he will bow out at a GF.
Thought garbutt and singo were huge tonight. Also thought burrow had one of his best games at hooker.
It's a massive ask next week after such a season but you just can't bet against the rhinos.

| Brave gutsy performance from Leeds with a never say die attitude. I thought Moon, Garbutt and Burrow were easily our best players with either of first two MOM.
Our back three seem to have lost the ability to run the ball back effectively or safely. Briscoe looks unable to run and despite Hall's blunders he still manages to score the crucial tries. Two tough matches on the trot so and IMO we need to play Wigan in the backs next week and run them around a bit as we might be light in the pack if Delaney is out.

| Watching tonight was a strange experience. St Helens were in front but I never felt like the Rhinos would lose.
It was a bit like that 09 final when Lee Smith kicked the 40-20 and that was the turning point.
I'm from Hull but I'm going to try and get a ticket for next week. It will be a privelidge to be able to say I was there for Peacock and especially Sinfield's final game.
You've got to win. It's just in thye script.

Pretty sure he didn't get it down but as it was given the VR needed clear proof that he didn't get it down. You couldn't proove he didn't as you couldn't see the ball for much of the time. The rules are daft but by the rules the try should have stood.

| What a team.
Apparently Wigan are red hot favourites because they walked over the Huddersfield team (with that awesome playoff record) we broke last week.
Peacock and Kylie will spend the week in the cryogenic recovery chambers (wheelie bins filled with ice) and come out ready to smash.
It's very definitely on.
F**k, it's great being a Leeds boy.

| Totally agree re-Garbutt he was immense as were Burrow and Moon.
I did get concerned when he kept bombing good field position/breaks and then they scored off Greenwoods strip on Hall but Sir Kev's 40/20 gave us that extra boost needed to go on and complete the task in hand.
Having watched the game back my thoughts remain as they did at the ground in that i think Hicks was out of his depth it's all well and good wanting the game to flow but what he was ignoring at times was ridiculous of course we got away with 2 or 3 calls ourselves but it still doesn't make the officiating either good enough or acceptable.
A big task awaits next week JP really did look gassed ,Delaney limped off and despite his last gasp try Watkins looked Lame.

| How important has signing Garbutt mid-season been? Think it's fair to say we wouldn't be where we are if we'd kept the squad as it was at the beginning of the season, with Andy Yates instead of big Mitch.

regarding hicks I agree he did look a bit out of his depth at times but mate, we all have to have our first big game at sometime. if he doesn't where does he get his experience of them?
I remember my first huge game as a ref. my linesmen got me through it! but you learn and as you do more you get better and, like a player, actually learn to enjoy the big games

| Hicks never looked out of his depth. He got things wrong, or didn't call, and from him I don't think we got a 50/50, but he controlled the game very well. He never lost control, and that is important. Even when players were complaining, he never lost it which happens in a lot of matches.
I am not sure he got as much wrong as Thaler the night before, in relation to missing things. If Hicks continues the way he is going, we may have two top referees this time next year.

| I don't think he got a lot wrong per se. I meant his control of the game, handling it, when to penalise and when to let go. I thought he went ok but I think he'll get better

| People who think jamie peacock is shot don't understand what is happening in front of them.
He made 40+ tackles yesterday and made numerous carries. He was one of our main sources of offloads too. He always looks knackered. But he's giving everything he's got to get less that title

| Ablett with massive missed tackles again. Somebody at the club really needs to get into his head, as something is wrong there. We know we have a top player, Christ he's been doing it a number of years now. But this year he is the least deserving of the pack for his spot. His misses are not even technique, he is very good, it just seems to be a blank in his head.
