| Lots of hysteria about this.
Yes it was a "head butt", but this one, judged on its own doesn't deserve a long ban. 1 or 2 games at most. Sinfield lost his head for a moment and reacted. It happens and will continue to happen in a lot of matches.
My personal view, as a Wigan fan, if that happens 15 mins earlier, sending off sufficient, as it was late in the game 1 to 2 games. No length of ban will punish Sinfield more than he will punish himself.
From a selfish point of view, wanting my team to win, ban him for life as it gives Wigan more of a chance of beating Leeds with him not playing. but on a serious note, lets all get over it, normally a fair player that doesn't do things like this, something must have been said to provoke. Lets also remember that Luke Dorn also says that these things happen in a game some times, doesn't make Sinfield a bad man.
Good luck for the Semi, will be cheering for the Rhinos in the final hopefully.

I found it. It was in Dorn's chin.
Shouldn't be a long ban, he'll be back for the Semi.

| The red was correct. I hope it gets graded a to b and they're lenient to reflect Kevins exemplary 14 year career. Only sad thing was that it was ajourneyman no mark like Dorn that did for Kev and blotted his copy book. 2 matches seems about fair.

| Huge over reaction to this because it's Leeds and because it's Sinfield. I was astounded by the length of ban in the Gareth Hock incident this week, having seen it live I don't think it was as bad as the video makes out in slow motion. I hope the RFL disciplinary boys don't get too carried away again and try make a name for themselves. 1-2 games max.
Remember this is RL, not football.

I am not sure you can do the grading based on previous record. I think the grading is what it is, but the exemplary record is taken into account when deciding on punishment, hence it could be lower than the minimum of the grading guideline.
For me it was a red card, but I have been head butted before, and the aggressor also, and that wasn't a head but. He used his head to defend himself, yes, and rightly punished. But that wouldn't even be considered an head butt by a girls class in kindergarten.

Similarly much as it would be useful for us to see him suspended (ideally until after the weekend of the 10th August
If it'd happened whilst the others were still out then maybe, but we've got everybody back now in the pivots and even his mate JJB so I'm not really sure about that tbh.

| On the point of intent - IM - Leeds tinted - O Kev lent in to go head-to-head with Dorn, Dorn reacted by moving his head away (some may say 'bottled it') instead of meeting Kev head-to-head. This resulted in Kev slapping the Glasgow kiss on the pension topping Dorn.
Head butt, yes - intent to cause harm, no. Two game ban, £300 fine, job done.

Totally unexpected and out of character from a player with an hitherto impeccable career more frustration than intent, two match ban, end of.

| Does anyone know how the disciplinary process works with reference to an epg? For example, does the panel sit, make a decision, inform the player of the outcome then let them enter an epg or does the epg have to be entered before the panel sit?
