I'm not sure to be honest. Even if they did and saints and Castleford voted against the 6, it's not really a solid majority to build something on. I'm not sure walking out was the right option but I'm not in possession of any of the facts so I'm not siding with my chairman or siding against another teams chairman.

| Was it actually a vote that would've meant the result was concrete and set in stone.........or was it effectively a show of hands to see where ppl stood ahead of the 'after the WC' proper final vote just to gauge the mood and opinions and 'see where everybody stood' ahead of that?
Seems unlikely if one of the biggest clubs (Saints) weren't represented properly (if at all) that the final vote would be the one taking place the other night........can ppl avoid the lazy and pre-agenda "yeah they tried doing it on the sly" replies.

| Saints and Cas didn't attend and Bradford were ineligable to vote. So only 5 clubs could have voted. Seems like the 6 that left were in the majority

So therefore why did they spit their dummies out?
Shows a complete lack of professionalism then that they would rather cry off than discuss something, when according to you they could'nt have lost anyway.

Maybe because they wanted to stick by the original agreement?
As for lack of professionalism, why don't you aim that at the RFL for bringing up the subject contrary to pervious agreements when 2 of the clubs weren't even there? (PS, why no stick for those 2 clubs for not sending someone? Although I have some sympathy if it was hastily arranged and the subject wasn't even on the agenda). They probably thought the items for discussion were the new Sponsorship offers the RFL had sought out? With that in mind it was probably fair that they thought not going wouldn't mean they missed much.
Quote: Gotcha "Just pinched this off TotalRL. Sounds more and more like some kind of unsophisticated pseudo-Mafia is attempting to run the RFL if this is the pathetic approach they bring to issues as enormously important as this.
[i"Pearson said that the meeting was called at short notice and the clubs weren't expecting the restructure to be on the agenda as all had agreed it should be delayed until after the WC. McManus was away, the Castleford CEO was 'very ill', Bradford had no vote as the new owners haven't been ratified yet, and it was clear that Heatherington had the Leeds, Wakey, and Widnes votes in his pocket.
It was a dead-set ambush attempt and the 6 who walked out were having no part of it. Kath Hetherington appears to have been representing Wakey in some way, although it's not clear how. James Rule, a very close friend and confidant of the above 2 was representing Widnes. And in case you missed it, Pearson wasn't alone with his concerns. There were 6 clubs who felt they were being set up.
Even if you want to dismiss these concerns as paranoia it seems inappropriate at best to spring a vote on such an important issue at a meeting where it wasn't on the circulated agenda and 3 clubs (Saints, Bradford, Castleford) weren't in a position to to make a decisive vote - one not being able to vote at all."[/i
Do Hetherington and Wood seriously think they are going to either bully or con (or both) 6 of the most influential clubs in the game by methods like these? Looks like they tried, had their bluff called and were found badly wanting. What a pair of numbskulls.'"
Sounds about right for the current RFL board to me.

Come off it. That whole post sounds compelte and utter garbage, that someone has made up. Complete paranoia about Hetherington it would seem.
As if something like that happens.
The fact is, it wasn't a RFL vote it was a super League meeting. Had it being for the RFL then other clubs would have being represented form outside Super League.

See above, Brian Barwick's comments say it was a vote. Does he not understand?

That seems like a formal vote to me. The departures halted a vote that would have had a positive impact. Not really that ambiguous IMO.
If it was as you suggest, why is Brian Barwick saying that the actions stopped a vote taking place and that the proposals would have had a positive impact, and not 'we just wanted to gauge the feelings of those present and nothing would have been set in stone at this stage'?
See above, Brian Barwick's comments say it was a vote. Does he not understand?'"
Gotcha didn't say it wasn't a vote. He said it wasn't an RFL vote.

| Apparently the Hull Daily Mail are saying that one of the biggest reasons why the clubs walked is they don't like Hetherington and the influence he has on the game.
So all this rubbish about concerns about structure and a vote being sprung on them is just bo11ocks. It's that Lenagan and Pearson don't like Hetherington.

Maybe I'm being a bit thick and missing some sort of distinction, but if it was (as Barwick suggests) a vote that would have seen the proposals have a positive impact (i.e. would have seen them implemented), then what is your point about it not being an RFL vote?

Because he was being pedantic about me saying it was an RFL vote when it was a SL vote.
Doesnt matter that the vote directly impacts all the other issues that do affect the RFL etc. whcih was agreed to be put on hold.
Ignore the fact that 2 of the 14 clubs weren't even there.
Ignore the issue that the subject wasn't on the agenda
Ignore that if the clubs stayed there votes would have gone down as abstained etc.
Sounds like the Unprofessional accusations need to be aimed in a different direction to me.
