| Put the pride back in the shirt. The defence under him was awesome. Like a few of the previous posts I remember "graham murrays barmy army" echoing round the south stand. Was so pleased I was there in 09 for the reunion and I remember him having a beer in the stand watching the game with a few of his old players.
The banner at wembley on the pitch "rhino fans - this is for you"
What sad news. Really sad

| Just back from a cracking Cup semi-final where I saw his captain Iestyn working on the radio and Adrian Morley playing for the Wire. Then I heard Barrie Mac on Radio Leeds talking about the great man and it was tough.
'Moz' must have been hurting more than anyone because it was Graham Murray who took him to Sydney Roosters, of course, and the rest is history. I think the sad news affected his performance today.
A very sad day for all concerned with game because we've lost one of rugby league's true gentlemen.

| He could coach players to be so much better than they had been. His two years at Leeds had some of my favourite memories. That team was outstanding.
RIP Graham. A sad, sad day.

| A fantastic coach. He got players to play well above their abilities. Certainly helped build a successful foundation for the current crop. I went to the 10 year anniversary dinner in 2009 (terry Newton was also in attendance). What a great speaker, I can understand why he lifted players to the levels he did.
A very sad day.

| Were it not for Graham I suspect there'd have been a few of us who'd have given up on Leeds. RIP.

| Obviously loved by all Leeds fans no question , but the admiration and sense of loss expressed by the coaching world , both here and in Australia , truly defines the man .
A very sad loss indeed .
RIP Graham .

| The mark of a good coach is whether he leaves a club in a better state than he found it. If you apply that criteria (and ignore Hunter Mariners, an unfortunate victim of the SL wars) then Graham Murray was a bloody good coach.
Arguably responsible for turning Leeds around and getting the club pointing in the right direction for the likes of Hetherington and Caddick to take forward.

He took a team nobody gave a about, a team literally thrown together and took them to the WCC final. Another amazing achievement in a career which at the top level involved only one trophy but, as you say, he took every single one of his clubs forward.
