| Quote: W55ARE "So it looks like it Richard Moore left out again this week. Sutcliffe wont get a look in either but it is great experience for him.
Its a funny one with Moore - I think he is a good player and should be playing week in week out somewhere. But its a fine line between; do I play for the Champions occasionally or do I play consistently for another team? I had my doubts when he came to this team but I guess he has converted me to a fan of his now. Wonder what is going through his mind?'"
Moore would never play week in week out in SL, he's little better than Championship level and not really good enough for SL so a few games a season is the best he'll ever achieve especially at Leeds.

He would get far more game time at almost every other sl club than he does at Leeds,I also don't agree with you that he isnt good enough for SL as i think that he always gives us some much needed go forward when he is in our 17
He's an excellent squad player at the Rhinos imo

Maybe he means playing for Hunslet.
I can`t understand why we wont play Moore tonight considering his limited amount of game time recently.
I would certainly rest JP and bring in Singleton.
I would also find a spot in the 17 for Sutcliffe even at the expense of possibly Ward or Sinfield which I doubt will happen.

Over the last two games, Ward has probably been our most outstanding player, taken as a whole. His tackling has been absolutely immense in the games. No way would that lad be dropped at the moment for anyone in his position. Unlike some others, he hasn't had the over exerting game time so far this year either.

| I'm dubious about how much benefit you get from resting the older (27+) players. Their physical endurance should be around its peak over the 27-30 period, even if some explosiveness and speed ahs suffered.
I suspect (I base this on limited experience and more from distance running which I acknowledge is different) that there's more benefit to handling the younger players with care, as over-use injuries can have more far-reaching consequences in players still developing physically. That period will be different for different players - some develop far quicker than others. I'm happy for the likes of Ward and Singleton to be used pretty sparingly at the moment, if they are indeed to be the future of the club.
Ward has been superb when I've seen him this season, but I wouldn't object to him sitting out a few games if the conditioning staff judge that to be right. There's a long game to play with that lad - we could be building a side round him 6,7,8 years from now.

| Quote: El Diablo "I'm a bit wary of too much talk of "resting" players because its London. Rest players if they need it, as part of a proper squad rotation policy or if they are carrying knocks by all means. But teams who rest players out of disrespect for their opponents tend to get burned.
No point beating Wigan, Saints and Wire if you're then going to get humped by London.
*awaits comments about the "master plan" to finish 5th*'"
Leeds have done well in their last block of 'tough' fixtures. We have another similar block next month. So in the fixtures inbetween the time should be used wisely.
Subtle, tactical, changes shouldn't have too much of an impact on our peformance/result if used wisely. Leeds last week were missing 2 tackling machines in Bails and Frog (AKA Bash Sisters or something) but players stepped in and did the job.
Some even stepped in and didn't even have to play.

| Quote: G1 "It could be based upon the amount of contested top flight rugby I have watched each of them play in recent weeks and my knowledge, based upon published media of their respective ages.
I trust you will leave those of us that aren't privy to the players rehab and training schedules and close observation of their recovery during the week to continue to discourse in our own uneducated fashion the merits of the game, form of players and merits of coaching decisions. After all, if you're not privy to those issues and you believe such knowledge is required in order to proffer an opinion you would be a bit of a hypocrite to do so, would you not?'"
Indeed. It is good that you acknowledge the important point that our professional coaching and conditioning team are the best placed to make the most informed decisions regarding team selection. While not challenging your rights to continue these "uneducated" discourses, you should equally trust others to put reasoned arguments that perhaps would explain reasons for some of our coaches decisons.
However much of these "uneducated" discourses are nothing more than constant sniping at our head coach. Usually from past critics, who have been twice confounded by his success, and who keep bobbing up with a pot shot expecting that the odds are against a 3rd consecutive Championship so they can claim they were right after all!

| If we're resting anyone from the side this week, It'd have to be JJB & JP. A pack of Leuluai, Kirke, Achurch & Clarkson with Moore & Singleton on the bench, with Ablett switching into the pack for Sutcliffe, should have enough to take care of London.
So a side of:
Hardaker
Watkins
Ablett
Moon
Hall
Sinfield
McGuire
Leuluai
McShane
Kirke
Achurch
Clarkson
Ward
Burrow
Moore
Singleton
Sutcliffe

| Think it's the sign of a fantastic and intense SL competition when some teams have the luxury of being able to take it easy and rest players knowing it makes no difference whatsoever to their season... win or lose.

I don`t doubt for one minute how well Ward has played recently and has been one of our standout players.
But my point is trying to slot Sutcliffe into the game tonight and Ward or Sinfield seem the two most likely to make way to give him that opportunity.
A rest for either of them wont do any harm considering our fixtures coming up.
Equally not sure what Moore has done wrong to miss out yet again and could have come in for JJB for instance.
We rarely rest players we either pick them or drop them it seems.
JP has already tweeted that the tank is empty.
