We must agree to differ - 2004 he was correctly MOM he was superb - the other GF wins his impact was no where near as influential and he along with some others benefitted from playing in a good side.

On McShane time will tell, I don't see the rate of improvement I would expect, the fact Buderus is out performing him every game and the gap between their relative performances is widening illustrates this lack of improvement. Whilst I have no truck with McDermott the fact that McShane appears to be falling down the pecking order suggest all is not well. To play hooker you need stamina - I am not sure McShane naturally has this, you also need pace not quick accelaration, McShane doesn't have that either. Talented player ball in hand not sure he has the all round game and physical aptitude to play this role at the top level.

Re Mcshane not getting selected i think it's another of our esteemed coaches selection brain farts tbh and i think he has got the potential to be a good SL9.
I'm sure if he was given the game-time he'd show sufficiant improvement as he did when selected at Cas i just think it's a case of having a duff coach at the moment.

I've heard McShane isn't happy about how he's been treated this season and may leave. It wouldn't suprise me.

With the strong possibility of Buderus leaving after this season, if not certainly next season, he would be stupid to leave. His future is paved out for him in one of the biggest clubs in the country.

But if he isn't getting a game now, if another hooker does come in, why would it change. I agree he might be being a bit spiteful, but I think he's probably thinking now or never. I think as a club, if Buderus is leaving, we should try putting a bit of trust in him and giving him the 9 shirt. I know there's a few on here that think he's not that good, but some on here would have you believe that Buderus is the messiah and that he could never be replaced - it's swings and roundabouts.

Give Mcshane the 9 shirt and let him play the season there and it would finish his development off nicely I recon.

If a replacement hooker is brought in then ok, that is a completely different ball game. But that is only speculation. But even then fight for your spot and don't quit. He is getting more games this season is he not? Then he should make it his aim to go even better next season. Things are not going well at the moment and McDermott won't be around forever either.

I think players - especially junior ones - should respect their boss. Players who have tried to play the "if I don't get treated right I'm leaving" card with GH have usually found themselves leaving. Sounds like McShane could be on his way fairly soon. Wakefield, Salford, Quins?

His future would only be paved out for him if the coach thought he was a suitable replacement - that doesn't seem to be the case.

Is it a matter of being treated right, or asking for 1-17 on their back? As a club we can't keep everyone because they will undoubtedly want to play first team rugby on a weekly basis.

all i know is that they been told if/when Buderus leaves we will be recruiting another hooker. Mcshane would undoubtedly get better if he was given game time and Hood should be loaned out like we have with atleast 5 other under 20s at the moment to see if he is the talent we hope he is

If McShane thinks that's an appropriate attitude, he won't be missed.

Maybe he should take a look at the coaching team's international caps and winners medals before shooting his mouth off.

fair point but schoey has loads of caps, was a great player but he was a ty coach too.

Its gota be frustrating for the lad hes been on the books along time now but just seems to be looked over at times when hes been playing quite well and improving imo
