| For yet another time (far to frequent for my liking) Watkins made another sublime try saving tackle.
He look really comfortable on the wing today and with our current winger drought might be a position we'll see him occupy for a few weeks.

Maybe Watkins career path should follow Chev Walker's with an introduction on the wing before he claims a centre position.'"
I think it definitely helped playing outside Ablett - playing him and Hardaker together last week was a huge error IMO

I agree, though I hate him taking the ball up in our 20 metre zone with his loose style of carry.
His jumping to take the kicks for his tries was excellent & his pace is good too.
Leave him there for him to get more experience at this level.

| Playing against Luke George will, by default, make you look good.

I dissagree. He's a centre and he is playing wing because we have a lack of options at the moment.
Play him at centre whenever possible and let him learn there. It would be a tremendous waste of talent if this kid was pigeon holed into been a future winger now instead.

I agree in that i see him as a centre rather than winger. Would still like to see him at the left centre though

| In attack, playing on the wing is much easier mentally than playing in the centres. That seems to suit Watkins, no need to make snap decisions or put out miracle passes under pressure.

| Seems to suit Watkins at the moment Andy but, like I said, no issues with blooding a young centre on the wing. It's what we did with Chev for quite a while.
Having said that, I'd also have no issues with him learning his trade, and making his mistakes, in the centres and won't be ready to write him off, as many did on here, when he makes those mistakes.

I agree, gaining experience on the wing in first grade is one of the ways to progress these young outside backs. A pity the club don't always share that view.

They usually do with players they think have something better to contribute to the 1st team than the incumbents. Like Ryan Hall, Lee Smith, Kallum Watkins, Zak Hardaker, Ben Jones Bishop. Separating the wheat from the chaff if you will. EVery now and again some bushy chaff slips through but they soon discard it.
Obvious chaff might get picked up elsewhere and be good enough for those with lower standards, which is good for the chaff and good for the lower clubs, but we generally blood the wheat in the 1st team.

" Bushy chaff " ....? What else do you know of Kirke ? Betting it's more to do with your oats and he being your fantasy incubus.
I would question the 'soon'
The particular chaff I suspect you refer to is going to make you gag on your words ..... I'd best stop there I think.

Elsewhere Barrie McDermott was predicting an England call up for another ex-Leeds starlet.
