| After their display against Saints, I reckon you are looking at one of the GF contestants, and the Wire fans have plenty of reasons to be arrogant.
We, on the other hand looked like Bradford

| Quote: G1 "Erm, I came away from my computer screen at about 3pm.
Well done Wire. The monkey is off their back and they have 2 points. Harlequins got the same for beating us. Tonight's results will have no bearing whatsoever on the title. Do you recall Leeds getting Shallocked at Saints in the GF qualifier in 08? What bearing did that have? Or Leeds getting shallocked by Hull in the last league game of the season in 07?
I'd have though, in particular as a Leeds fan it might have dawned upon you that the league season is a qualifying campaign, nothing more and form in February has little bearing. After all, I do recall you writing us off in February, March and April of 2007 and 2008 only to be left with egg on your face.
It's 2 league points at this stage, nothing more, nothing less.'"
I think in 2008 I was chastised by your good self for raving about how good the team looked under McClennan - and how he no way compared to Smith as a coach - I think it was a case of you with egg on your face and backpeddling along with Danny on your tandem I.I.R.C - but you did have a measly £50 bet on the final!! - facts a terrible things especially when you actually have the arrogance to believe you are never ever wrong!!!

David, you wrote the teams off. Everyone remembers it. I had fun at the end of every season re-hashing your posts.
What point are you trying to make by pointing out my successful bet in 08? That I didn't write them off?
Point remains, 2 league points won or dropped in February is far from crucial, whoever the opposition.

| At this point in the year it's about making sure the basic structures are in place and testing them. Picking up 2 points every week is important but not the "be all and end all" that some would believe. You can't be on top of your game every week at this early stage, and we need to put some consistency together that we can build from.
On the point about Wire beating Saints, that run has gone on so long that it I can see it was crucial for Wire to beat Saints as early as possible so that they could gain the confidence and belief that they were capable of doing it later in the season when it will matter more. If Saints had come back to win again, then there would continue to be a question in the minds of the Wire players when the big games come around. As it is they have put the run to bed and have picked up exactly the same number of league points this weekend as Harlequins have. I dare say that Tony Smith will place more value in the confidence that Wire will take from finally beating Saints, than the 2 league points they gained.

| Quote: Sal Paradise "So winning today will not give Warrington a significant boost going into the next month?'"
yes it will... and more importantly as those in favour of the arrogant point of view have forgotten, we have often gone on a bit of a bad run after one of our many gallant defeats by saints. Hopefully we can now go on a decent run.
Saints next home game is Harlequins. I wonder how many people fancy quinns to win based on their away win at headingly or based on Saints first home loss to Wires in plenty......

Absolutely - my mind goes back to 2007 - the play off semi against Saints, Leeds lost the game but mentally they won the game and that showed in the final. The psychology of pro sport plays a huge part in deciding who wins.
