Well I was just gonna be doing the day trip down as my sister is happy to drive. Just mentioned that I'm down for Wembley to my boss in london and we now have a free hotel on High Holborn on friday and Saturday night, winner

One tube line direct to Wembley Park.
Best avoid the cities two sports team's fans all going to london on the same day!

Just booked the Hotel Russell for Friday through to Monday via Super Breaks.

Super Breaks advantage is the cheap rail ticket which is only £36 return (Standard Class from Wakefield Westgate). Super Breaks has an offer on for the Russell, for those of you that are going to stay through till Monday from Friday, and you get the Sunday night half price. So it was £89.50 per person per night Friday & Saturday and £44.75 per person per night for Sunday.

Then we got an additional 12% discount on the whole lot through Mrs Armadillo's corporate discount.

So, for a Bank Holiday weekend in August, in a good quality, well located 4* hotel, it is quite a good deal.

We are staying at the Strand palace hotel in central London, any ideas on parking?

Really struggling for parking ideas.

It is not that near the Strand, so you would have to drop off and then get the tube (or walk, maybe 15 mins) back, but Bloomsbury Square underground car park is very good and cheap for London as it is operated by Camden Council. It is around £25 for the day and they have a great evening rate of about £7 IIRC. Most of the other car parks in central London are operated by commercial companies and you are looking at £35 to £40 a day at least.

Specially for McF - Bloomsbury Square car park has a double helix design and it is quite sort of 'trippy' to get your head around!
