It's post like these that give the rest us the evidence as proof that you have absolutely know knowledge of this sport and that everything you post should be either ignored of simply laughed at.

I know how know and no should be used.
I've watched "this sport" for 60 years, and stood alongside very knowledgeable Leeds fans at Headingley and Central park, without concern or trouble inside the ground.
I'll guarantee your crowds will drop if Leeds United get promoted, and in general it'll be the little chavs who will desert first.

Most of us know that if Leeds Utd are promoted this year the prices at Elland Rd will go through the roof - its how the Bad Santa works - there is no way that your average working man will be able to afford even a day ticket at LUFC let alone your spotty oik who currently inhabits the southstand, they are here to stay we very much regret to say.

So you can say, with absolute conviction, that our crowds will drop if LUFC gain promotion?
In fact you can guarantee it!
You are psychic of incredible foresight; maybe you should use your implausible abilities to predict other unpredictable events – lottery numbers, rain precipitation on any given day, Wigan silverware wins (ok scrap the last one, that’s pushing this too far)
…or maybe in your advanced years you’ve heard/read some thing some where about Leeds United supporters at Rhinos games and you’ve taken it as gospel, my Gran is exactly the same with wine gums actually containing wine.
Until you come up with six numbers between 1 and 49 that match the next Lotto draw I’ll treat every post of yours with the contempt it deserves.

It will be interesting to see.
There is no doubt that crowds started to go up when LUFC started to be poop, but Rhinos also started to do well, so it could be total conincidence.
However, once LUFC were relegated from the premiership it could be that the chavs who liked to get drunk and abusive at a sporting event found that they could do it much cheaper at headingley, and so decided that it left more of their cash for white lightning.
In which case the second coming of LUFC may not have that big an impact. Who knows?

Weren't you around for the play off replay in 1987? We thought it was the second coming then. The buggers kept us waiting though.

| Is there really any correlation between our increase in crowds and the demise of Leeds United?
Other than some ill informed opinion from opposition fans does anyone have any conclusive evidence to support that theory?

In terms of numbers there is a correlation. Whether it is attributable to the success of the rhinos, or the demise of LUFC is another matter..
www.slstats.org/t8/Leeds%20Rhinos/
2000 - 12,674
2001 - 12,881
2002 - 12,157
2003 - 12,849
2004 - 16,028
2005 - 17,012
2006 - 15,677
2007 - 17,558
2008 - 17,043
2009 - 15,312
LUFC were relegated from the premiership in 2004. And again in 2007, which coincided with a jump of 3k and 2k. However, these were also years in which Rhinos were champions.
Hardly conclusive.

The chap who has the two seats next to me was a season ticket holder at Elland Road for 25+ years. He "switched" when George Graham was United Manager. He switched because of pricing, not the success or otherwise of either side.
I think the success of the Rhinos will have more bearing on our attendances that the success of United.
