| Got to agree with you there tad mate, Amor should have never been let go and is exactly what we need - a young, decent, hardworking prop to fill the massive void that will be left when JP and Kylie hang up their boots.

| Totally agree Tad/Ls16 but lets hope the club have someone else lined up and that Yates proves his worth.
I also think Singleton should have a long term deal if he hasnt already!

982.jpg [quote:1pqtnbtj]Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.[/quote:1pqtnbtj]

| Opposite of Meh. very annoyed. Club have blundered 3 times with this lad, letting him go out on loan, letting him leave and letting him slip through our fingers for Saints again.
He's exactly what this pack is missing bar Peacock. A metre making prop. Finished the season as the fourth highest metre maker out of props.
You want to talk about meh, Richard Moore and Ian Kirke are the definition of meh and, sadly, they're still pulling on Leeds jerseys whilst this lad is not.

| We should have signed Walmsley before Saints got in there too.
Now Amor has signed for Saints it could come back to bite us big time.
Totally agree that we should be shipping out Moore and Kirke every time for the likes of Amor.
McDermott does seem to have the attitude that he is always right no matter what the facts prove.
He would not be seen to try and get Amor back as it would be an admission of getting it wrong.
Maybe that is why Kirke keeps getting picked.
One day he will have a good game.

| I was firmly in the camp of keeping him first time around when we had the option on him.lets be honest though,he was never going to return to us now after the way he was treated during his time here.was basicaly told he wasnt good enough.he has proved himself to be the prop many of us said he could be given the chance though, and it is now saints who will feel the benefits of that for the best part of a decade.

I am highly critical of McDermott, and won't back down on that. However, I don't for one minute blame him on the recruitment front, and think Hetherington is the man entirely at fault or at success when it comes to that. I know for a fact that Barry McDermott recommended to the board that Walmsley was signed, and Brian McDermott was not even consulted. It was Hetherington the other year dictating to McDermott that Webb had to be in the team the other year due to him being one of the high earners, and it was McDermott that wanted not to renew Webb's contract (which he won the argument).
In all fairness to the club, the first time around Amor looked nothing like making it as a super league player, and IMO were right to get him out on loan. Where Hetherington failed is that when coming up with a deal that Wakey got him for free if Amor decided to stay there, he should have had a sell on clause or at least a first refusal recall clause. As since then obviously Amor has proved himself much better, and considering our requirements in the next two years, Hetherington has again completely missed the boat with his succession planning.

IN the context of our current squad I can't argue with this. As has been mentioned above Bailey too. Amor from what I have seen and here would be an upgrade on all three, and with JP and Kylie in their senior years, GH must have been able to see this coming.

| It's going to be annoying and far from 'meh', when JP and Kylie are gone, to be seeing Amor and Walmsley lining up for Saints for the next decade when this time last year we were in pole position to have both of them.

I bow to your superior knowledge on the behind the scenes goings on at HQ.
If what you are saying is true then we will I am sure be well and truly miffed when both Walmsley and Amor rip it up against our ageing front rowers next year.
Pretty decent front row when you add Roby to the mix.
