If Leeds dont go straight up this year with the squad they have then the manager and his assistant should resign.

Im going for Histon to beat us im serious and im not kidding.
We are a shambles at the back another goal from a corner against a side that scored two against us last week
Histon will have been watching us in last week to see we cannot defend set pieces and you can bet all there preperations now for sunday will be from set pieces and hope they pay off.
We have the best players in this league by far but we are so inconsistant another few bad results till christmas and i can see Mac a goner.

Let's get a little perspective here.

We don't have the best squad in the division by far. Its reasonable to say Leeds and Leicester probably have the strongest or the ones with the most potential but they're not that far ahead of the others. We probably have the best forwards and the best midfield but defensively the squad isn't too strong.

Last night we had what is arguably our third choice left back, third choice right back, and of the (only) 3 centre halves at the club 2 are not fully fit and haven't been for a while, so we've had a 5' 9" 37 year old right back playing as an emergency centre half. Funnily enough we've conceded some daft goals, especially from set pieces. There's a surprise eh?

Last night we had over twice as many attempts on goal as Northampton. That's been the same in most matches.

We may like to delude ourselves that our players are far better than this division or that Leeds United have a divine right to go up. They're not and we don't.

Did a worse team not beat the same opposition 5-2 last week?

There is no consistency whatsoever. It's alright playing football but you have to get results too and that is not happening.

I don't rate Marques at all but I'm hoping he recovers from his injury as soon as. Telfer is decent but he can't be playing every single match. Lubo is a liability and can't believe this is the same player that was getting premiership games a year ago!

Not bad me am I? Sound me. I'm a good lad me.

As for LUFC wellllllll frig sake. TC makes a very good point. We need some constancy. We need to get a good run leading up to Xmas, beating the likes of Hudders especially at home and beating the teams we play around our league position, not dropping points in the last minutes. We really no need to sort out our centre halfs. Work needs to be done on defending crosses.

We haven't beat a team around us so far this season apart from Scunny which was the first game, quite worrying tbh!

The same back four and keeper conceded the same number of goals, and in both games the team created far more chances than their opponents.

The squad isn't great in terms of the defence, and the defence has been weakened through injury, illness and suspension. Unfortunately a 5' 9", ageing right back is the best option we have in the centre of defence at the moment. Net result is that we will be vulnerable at set pieces to balls lofted in. On Saturday Telfer got alot of stick on Radio Leeds (from those with a birdseye view of the commentary on the radio) as his poor headed clearance from a corner was the fault for the goal - had he been an inch or two taller he wouldn't have got underneath it and the headed clearance would have been good. He can't make himself taller nor can height be coached into him.

If in January a centre half is brought in and a settled back four play for the remainder of the season but Leeds still don't go up then the criticism will be valid.

these problems were evident last season but nothing was done about it other than making a crap right back our captain.
