I think he is very overrated a real poor man's Danny McGuire. I would be interested in Ridyard - he is the one who pulls the strings in the Leigh side.

| Have to say wasn't that impressed with Brierley yesterday. Thought he was very quiet even in the first half when at least Leigh 'performed' which is more than you can say about their gash second half 'performance'

That's already a done deal if Leigh don't come up.

Which on yesterday's performance looks more likely than most were possibly thinking when this new format was announced.
Leigh were terrible yesterday especially the second half in a game you'd have thought they'd be well up for, 1st game of the 8's, at home and against a SL team when they had a great chance to put a 'marker' down

| Brierley has a lot of talent but is essentially a runner who would fill a young DM role. Burrow, Sutcliffe and Mags are also primarily runners with the latter developing his creative passing skills. But none of these can replace Sinfield's leadership, game management and kicking abilities. If we were to sign Cameron Smith this would fulfill our needs totally but as this is unlikely then IMO we need both a hooker and a controlling half back who can kick.

| Can't see anything in brierley that would justify signing him. Houghton is a tackling machine. Unfortunately that's the limit of his skills.
Things will change in the close season, players will become available. As discussed before a bid to prise Clarke from the wire might be worth a shot. Albeit a long shot.

....maybe not! Most Warrington fans appear to prefer Dwyer as their hooker.....and is it a coincidence that Clarke seems to save his best performances for games when he is in the Leeds shop window?

| For whatever reason he hasn't seemed to settle. Being sold on by cas might have helped them stay a float but I doubt it's what they, or Clarke wanted.
Maybe he is just seeing out his contract until he can return to where he wants to be.

| I'd love to sign Clarke though. If only for the beard increase to our pack .
I wonder if the backs keep clean shaven for aerodynamic reasons ? XD

| Brierley was poor because the nuggets in the leigh side lost there heads and they were under the cosh. his kick for McNally was sublime. quality player.
for me we need a second row. JJB is all but done, keinhorst and achurch are average squad players at best

i cant decide if we do or not
Ablett will do 80 minutes every week, and Ward can do most of that when he's fit
Achurch as 3rd back rower/bench option, and now Keinhorst seemingly an option
JJB and Delaney splitting time at loose when available
The option of a 3rd prop in the back row is also an option, with Cuthbo and Singleton playing there this season - could do similar next year depending on our props/injuries
we've also got both Mulhern and Baldwinson coming back who could both feasibly play the 3rd prop role for us too
young Cameron Smith seems like a natural loose from what i've seen (i dont know how many years he might be from a regular place though)
i think i'd be happy to run with what we have next year, and then reassess for 2017 if the younger guys dont pan out as useful squad players/first team options

You make a strong argument against a 2nd row recruit just now.

| the rumour on facebook is that Ballin has been signed up. Would he be eligible to play in the 8s if he was released now?
Sandow obviously made his debut on friday, is there a cut off point for SL eligibility

| I agree with Tad, this time.
We need to start looking for a new SR for the 2017 season at the very least. Jjb/ Delaney are injury prone and ageing , Keinhorsts role in the team doesn't seem set yet and Achurch isn't good enough as a replacement for those two. A
Ablett won't be that young by 2017 eijther .

I think it was the Friday before the last day of the regular season.
