| Quote: Andy R "It could be bettered by a post from you which outlined your real opinion about Buderus' contribution this season and in particular over the last 2 weeks. I'll make it easy for you - don't mention or compare him to Diskin or try and justify his signing
However, how about we discuss a player I have steadfastly supported all season long? A player I have maintained is a big match player, a game breaker and a champion. A player most posters were happy to discard for Rangi Chase.
Let's discuss the 2 time Harry Sunderland Trophy winner. What a game eh? And what a piece of history, garnering all 37 votes. Wow.
Buderus had a very good game but Rob Burrow, a home grown English Rhino, and another Academy product walking away with a man of the match in a big final, had an historic game. Why don't we focus on that rather than an import who is heading out the door by his own choice?

Absolutely! Burrow off the bench has taken rob to a different level from solid performance to genuine impact and game changing ability! Burrow has regained his best form. Wakey fans think he's going to them? I bloody hope not.

I agree with everything you've said, I often do. I just wondered if you could bring yourself to truly compliment Buderus and his two world class hooking performances in the last 2 games. He might not be as flashy as Monaghan or Roby but he's equally as good IMO and is a bloody massive hole to fill, especially defensively.
Burrow is without a doubt the biggest game breaker we have at the club. I stick by my sentiments which I've expressed since 2004 that we are more effective in big games against strong packs with Sinfield at 6 and one of Burrow or McGUire on the bench. This allows us to dominate the early exchanges and bring a player on who can make a huge impact. Burrow did with two of the most creative bits of individual brilliance I've ever seen in a Grand Final. Neither of those breaks were easy tries to score once the initial break was made and yet he took both superbly.
In G1 agenda style mode though - let's not pretend he's had a brilliant season

And with the greatest respect, I think that means an awful lot of the people who post regularly on this forum.
It was a fantastic performance by Leeds last night, I really enjoyed the game and thought both Sinfield and Brian Mac were very good with their after match speeches, their diplomacy spoke volumes and other than your resident thug Bailey, who I detest with a passion, I was pleased for all the players, who I felt got their just deserts.

| Sir Kevin's speech made me ashamed of myself.
I'm OK now though. I've been wrong absoltely LOADS of times, and rarely enjoyed it more than on Saturday night.

| To be fair, Sinfield also said that the Leeds fans were 'the best in the world'. His comments were aimed more at various pundits and members of the RL media. Both he and McD have confirmed that performances earlier this year weren't good enough, which is exactly right. People paid out good money to watch some of the tripe that was served up and as such, were well within their rights to be unhappy. Only the odd couple of people categorically wrote the team off - most people just told it as it was and stated things needed to change. Things changed, and we are champs!

I know that feeling!!
To be fair though.... I don't think there's many (if any!) that can say they've spent all season believing!

But sadly there were more than the "odd couple of people who wrote" the coach off!

His speech was a mammywhammer.
Frankly I doubt very much that anyone at the club with more than one braincell gets too wound up by what is posted on here. People go to games and then blow off steam. Before t'internet would players and coaches have bothered to come down the pub to listen to fans gassing? Hardly.
I personally am completely wrong at least 90percent of the time. My sometimes lack of faith is a deep seated psychosis as a result of the 1980's and most of the 1990's.
Seriously, Sir Kev was probably not slagging a few fans on a message board.
It would be Awesome though if he logged in and gave us some s@@t in person while we all humbly kissed his magic boots

| That section of sinfields speech was aimed at people within the media that had written the team off and not the fans.
The fans have shown tremendous support at times (they'll always be a minority that boo after bad games). Look at the grand final and the encouragement recieved after the team went 8 down and looked gone. THAT was great support.
Who gives a feck what s small minority (in the grand scheme) post on a bloody internet forum, do you think the players even bother to read? We still turn up in thousands and make noise and cheer the boys on. People turned up at catalans after we copped a thrashing by saints, they turned up to cheer the boys at headingly against hull after said thrashing with catalans. We give them good support, doesn't matter what's written on here.

| Have I misunderstood what Sinfield said?
He dedicated the win to all those who wrote the team off. Leeds fans need to recognise where the inspiration for the victory came from and it wasn't from those relative few who spent the season believing they could do what they had failed to achieve before round 27 and beat a succession of top four finishers.

Got to agree, i've been to all the games bar two this season (away to catalans and harlequins) and the support has been excellent considering what we've been through. The only time i've heard more than a tiny minority attack the team was at Widnes when we got a drubbing off Saints, and that was a group of pished up idiots that didn't seem to understand the game anyway. I can't remember the team being booed off which has happened to clubs like Hull,Bradford and st Helens this year. I have doubted the coaching staff and the team, probably like 99% of our fans if they're being honest, but i've always given them my full support and never verbally attacked the team or manager, once again like the majority of our fans. We got what we deserved for averaging 15,000 despite a disappointing league campaign and turning up even when the season was going badly wrong.

Mindbending... the people who believed in the team are in reality the ones to blame for us nearly failing.... their believist treachery sickens me.
