| Not really, as Huddersfield would have to have a "small club" reputation instead of our "big club" reputation, which I'm just not sure they do anymore. To me, Huddersfield are credible contenders, just like Leeds.
Regarding Ferguson, it has been said many times previously but when Leeds got Pitts, we took the wrong one...

Not really. They took Pitts for a specific reason, it's just that the club have failed him with poor development of that. Example how many times has he played Prop? that was what the club signed him as and in the announcemnt said that is what he would be.
Pitts has been let down by Leeds previolsy, but now with a new coach who actually rates him highly, we will now see if it was a wasted signing or not.
Ferguson should have been snapped up previously whether we got Pitts or not. That's another lad that has wasted his last 18 months. Looked a miles better prospect than Joel Tomkins 18 months back, but been at the wrong club since. Plus the fact he had a few personal problems (ala Tansey and Pratt) that need resolving to get his head back in gear.

Didnt we do the same to Keighley when we got Daryll Powell,Fleary and Farell.Didnt see anyone complaining then. The whole of Super League knew this would happen and widnes should have been brought in a few weeks ago at wakeys expense. The RFL should have insisted on looking at Wakeys' books to see what was happening, instead we have a (decent) start to the season with good coverage then just 2 days later a club is struggling. And people wonder why our game doesnt get the respect it deserves!!!!!

You can understand other clubs taking advantage of the situation, but that doesn't make it any more palatable. It's a bit like divvying up someone's estate before they are dead...'"
I think you are right it is a shame but I really can't blame other clubs, if players are being put on the market then that is not there problem.
The bigger issue for me here is why players are being put on the market by the administrator when they claim to have reached and agreement with a company to buy the club? Now, it must one of the creditors that is unhappy with the money being paid for the the club and therefore forcing the administrators to sell players to pay back creditors but who.... HMRC perhaps? And why are they possibly forcing O'Hara hand in this case and not in the case of Crusaders where they didn't get a single penny?
It smells a little to me at the moment, but the above is pure speculation at the moment... they could be very good reasons we are not aware of why this is happening. It will all come out in the wash, but will the RFL's hands be whiter than white?

Beat me to it!
Still, it did gain Leeds at least one new supporter from Keighley. Mentioning no one in particular of course

I think there's a slight difference to what Leeds did with Keighley in that Keighley (iirc, and feel free to correct) had already "gone" from the top division.
If Wakefield had been demoted to the NL a few weeks ago, as should have happened, then I'd have less of a problem with other SL clubs taking their players. As it is, SL clubs are ensuring that Wakefield will be an embarrassment on the pitch all year in their own league.

But even the RFL won't stoop that low mate, they would have had to kick out Wakefield and Crusaders to NL1 and that is not going to happen while ever Crusaders owe the RFL £700k. They will just wait to July and kick them out then instead via a fair and even assessment process! Also, Widnes would not be ready either at such short notice and which over club do you bring up as well?

I wouldn't be suprised.
Even the old school motivator has no cards left to play. His first team stars are leaving, the latest leaver will add further salt into fans and players wounds, which will leave an un-closeable hole in the team.
Huddersfield have picked up a decent signing, which will offer them further options.
What do Wakie have left? Looking at their message boards, not a lot. Hope is more or less lost and the acceptance of a broken club is settling in.
Could Kear, complete the biggest turn around of all time pooling whatever resources he has left? Unlikely. But he likes his romantic journeys.

| Until the sale goes through, which it can't until Glover clears the RFL "fit and proper" test, the administrators are duty bound to continue selling assets to realise funds to pay the creditors. For the buyers to claim the administrators are being unfair in disposing of saleable assets is naive in the extreme - it's their job and what they're engaged to do.
Millard to Catalans is next on the list apparently.

| I agree totally Andy that the Administrators have a job to do and are doing it, simples. I wonder however what happens to the valuation of the club as a "going concern" when it's assets are being sold off (rightly) to pay the creditors? The longer this goes on the lower the value of the club will be and the more players will leave to pay the bills. Not good.

| I'm not an expert on valuing businesses, but I would imagine it will have been done either on the value of the assets or on a cashflow basis.
If it's the former, then the value will be going down slightly every time an asset of the business is sold. If it's the latter, it'll make a smaller dent in the valuation as the cashflow isn't necessarily going to change a great deal as a result of Ferguson and Obst moving on.

Andy - I thought Andrew Glover had already passed the RFL 'fit and proper' person test? Both him and Steve Parkin had both had verbal confirmation from the RFL already and that all the RFL needed to do was send the letter, which given the hour they could not do on Friday? Have you heard something different?
