On your own line? on the first tackle? In the last seconds of a play-off game?

and that one thing makes him a bad player?
makes him human to me.
dropping all 8 kicks yesterday makes him a player shot of confidence.

Its strange the amount of excuses people are prepared to make for Briscoe compared to say Sutcliffe, or Lilley, or Mcdermott.

As good as Hull were we still have a good record against them so facing them in the playoffs is nothing to be worried about despite yesterday.
And yes Cas look much better than us. In 2011 &!2012 Warrington looked MILES better than us and we knocked them out come playoff time. Thrashings st their ground and a Wembley beating spring to mind?

I replied to your post about his dropping the ball v Catalan. I think he's shot and shouldn't play again. nowhere did I make excuses.
I said one error doesn't make a bad player

I remember Diskin dropping the ball in the 2001 Challge cup semi final, I think against Saints, over at a Wigan. Think we lost by one score, and it was on near the end, and he dropped the ball. Didn't write him off.

| It appeared to me that A decision was made at half time for Briscoe not to compete for the high ball in the second half. This could have worked for kicks landing 5 metres or further from the try line, however Sneyd kicks seemed to be coming down nearer the line than in first half. In particular the one which led to talanoa knocking the ball back for the 2nd half try had to competed for and/or if not other Leeds players had to be there to pick up the pieces. Neither happened.
Watched a few highlights of 11 and 12 GF's and in both BJB spilt high balls. One led directly to Myler scoring for wire.
briscoe is clearly in trouble but it's a thankless task and as others have said he gets little help and kick pressure was virtually nil. To me We often appear to be short of a right second row when defending. Ultimately though for mine we could not handle their superior pack and that is where game was lost. Plus agree with others the 2 tries they scored in last 5 mins of first half swung the game away from Leeds.
Fully aware Briscoe has struggled dealing with kicks for months, however Hull RW was out jumped by hall for one try, could not prevent a second from Watkins kick and knocked ball on behind line under no pressure from excellent moon kick. As Hull head to Wembley though, I doubt he is getting any stick from hull fans.

That is one thing to be fair, Fonua was as disappointing as Briscoe first half and as costly to his teams chances. He didn't have the same threat against 2nd half due to forwards who wanted it more.

I wasnt necessarily meaning you. I just think that Briscoe has had some real stinkers and got nowhere near justifying his signing but he doesnt come in for half the stick the likes of Sutcliffe, lilley and McDermott do.

Im comfortable applying a different standard to a young player in his first season for the club and an experienced international big money signing.

Don't be coming on here with rational plans like that! We've got a player to hang out to dry!

Come on im not here to hang any player out to dry but Briscoe was easy meat and any team's half could have targeted him yesterday with a basic kicking game.
Truth is his coach should have seen this and taken action after the first big warning when we got away with the no try when he dropped a dolly, i actually feel for Briscoe he has issues and continuing with him in hope is not helping anyone.
