| Quote: jools "That stand you refer to was full of U7 and U8kids - including mine- who'd played the curtain raiser whilst you lot were still in the pub. You know the ones who were applauded when they did their proud lap of honour at half time.'"
Out of curiosity, if an incident like that would have happened in an Under 7s or 8s game would you condone a player celebrating his achievement immediately afterwards?
Don't get me wrong, all evidence points to a clash of heads and no wrongdoing on O' Donnell's part, but when a fellow professional is laying on the ground like that I'd expect a player to show a bit more class. As for the mascot doing his fake falling over to impress the kids, very poor also. Hope your Under 7s and 8s don't think thats the way it should be done.

| Couldn't see anything wrong with the tackle at all but might be different on replay
From what I saw LOD was subbed immediately and the officials were more bothered about Kirke at that time, then when Kirke started to get treatment the officials were talking about the incident and called him back onto the field to give him the red card, I didn't see sinfield or any other Leeds player speaking to the ref, the only person doing that was Brough who was not happy at all.

| My mistake, just had a quick look on the Giants board and it was Sinfield who made the ref send him off

| Independent viewpoint: Legal tackle with unfortunate consequences. He was sent off for the injury, not the tackle.
Glad Kirke's OK

| Could of sworn i saw another offical run on and have a word with Alibert after 7-8 mins of the stoppage, think it was him who got the ref to reverse his decision and not Sinfield. Don't know what he could of seen to do this, especially when it looks a clash of heads on the 2nd viewing but i definatley don't think it was Sinfield who changed the ref's mind.

| Sinfield was constantly at Alibert while Kirke was receiving treatment, obviously no one knows what was said but he kept going back and having a 'word' .....maybe he managed to persuade Alibert it was an illegal challenge i dunno but like John D says he was sent off for the injury - and i think his reputation - rather than the actual tackle!.
Anyway Kirke is ok and has said it was a clash of heads and no need for any of that card business so he obviously saw nothing wrong with it !

Pfft, a true warrior such as Ben Cross, would have taken the next available hit-up.

Ben Cross isn't effected by bangs to head.
Scientific fact.

| Missed it at the time and haven't seen a replay but if Alibert's seen it as an offence worthy of dismissal then that's proof enough for me.
Clearly a perfectly legal tackle.

| It wasn't the first time Alibert has been told to distrust what his own eyes are telling him and accept the view of a lesser official over his own judgement.
He's a pretty good official but allows himself to be swayed by others. He could do with a dose of the John Holdsworths.

| Glad to hear Kirke is OK and I hope he makes a speedy recovery.
Regardless of what us spectators did or didn't see, the ref's handling of the situation was shambolic.

| Quote: Mark_W "Or maybe he hasn't seen it, y'know like the officials and the majority of fans?'"
so the officials just decided to give a red card for something they hadnt seen
or maybe they just changed there mind after sinfield started crying to the ref for 10mins!
