I think Andy Farrell would still be winning it if they did that.

| There is definitely an anti Leeds bias in the media.Iestyn Harris should have won MOS 2 years in a row (look at the number of Tissot watches he collected those seasons; an armful) but the selectors were falling over to give it to ? Adrian Vowels or anybody else that had a half decent season. Kevin Sinfield has been a contender that has been overlooked 2004-2012.What about Gareth Ellis in 2007,surely more worthy than super sub Roby. Also what about Matt Diskin, or Danny McGuire or Ali 2004?Ryan Hall would be my Leeds pick for this season.Good luck to Ben Westwood.

| Westwood and Hardaker for me.
No doubt that roby would be a worthy winner either though.
I think sinfield for Leeds is one of the best players of recent times but for me falls short for man of steel.
Maybe more worthy of a lifetime achievement award.
I think Cunningham got something like that when he retired, and maybe Leeds with recognise him in some other fashion like with the statue of Cunningham.

| It's not just MOS where Leeds players have missed out - it's awards full stop.
From memory I don't think a Leeds player or coach has picked up any award in any season since first winning Super League in 2004 - which is pretty remarkable!
How Tony Smith didn't win coach of the year in '04 is simply unbelievable for instance.
As for MOS, Sir Kev was closest in '05 I'd suggest - unlucky but Lyon was a worthy winner. Without him, Kevin would have walked it.

| Tony Smith won coach of the year 2005, more of a belated award for 2004 though (the RFL realised that a team which ammassed 50 league points out of a possible 56 might just be worth a mention after all)

My bad, yes he was!
That's definitely the only individual award anyone from Leeds has won in that time period, just double checked! Don't think the players will be too bothered though, can't imagine they'd swap their medal haul for individual glory
It's just a pretty remarkable fact that a team winning five league titles in eight seasons fails to get a single player award!

Farrell's 2004 Man of Steel was as deserved as his international player of the year.

Oh I don't know, I didn't think he was an unworthy winner of MOS to be honest.

| Farrell's win in 04 was a joke and IIRC he got it based on his 'heroic' display at Headingly when he played on with a broken nose.
McGuire, Vianakolo, Sinfield, Bai, and Furner were all more deserving than Panface.
In 2005 Sinfield would've won it ahd it not been for his injury half way through the season.

His legs had gone. He was well past his best. He spent much of the season propping he'd slowed down that much. In fact, he was so slow it was not long after he took another step down to being an outside back in Rugby Union.
He won it on reputation, not form, IMO.

| Maybe it would help if the MoS awards were actually decided after the end of the season.
