Don't think Brian Mac will be too pleased with Cross. At first look I couldn't see what the problem was, just seemed to run into him. Then I watched the replay.... Prop forwards running into scrum halves with elbows up off the ball. Tough. Really tough. Vive le biff etc.....

I don't think I can actually remember seeing the first 5 prop forwards unavailable at one time. Big test for Kirke. 4 carries won't get the job done this week, but he is capable of a decent performance.

Given BMD's comments about Cross after his debut, I don't think he's too impressed with him full stop.

On the BBC website McDermott seems very unhappy re not being able to recall Amor. Slightly odd to complain now given that even before the season started we were down to just three 'recognised' props (Burgess, Leuluai and Cross) given the injuries to Bailey and Peacock and Ambler being on loan for the year.

On the plus side he has obviously picked up on Leeds' dreadful goal line defence - the only question is whether anything actually changes.

He should have read his contract before he started
You dont get to pick the players in the squad, you get to pick players from the squad and "coach" them

To be fair Baileys latest set back was'nt allowed for and he's been on the fringe of the match-day squad for a while only to have late set backs plus he started the season intending to use Kirke as an out and out Prop with the back up of Jjb.
The Ambler call was just the same one as Bjb last year let the kid play a season at SL level or keep him as a 6th/7th choice Prop in the u20's where tbh he's probably "outgrown".
Also the Amor deal is only 1 month and was done before we lost Kylie so again the kid gets SL game-time for a few weeks rather than been 5th choice with us.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing and although many would of picked Ambler over Kirke anyway the coach decided that the younger lads would be loaned and no-one could of predicted been 5 props down for a 5th rd SL game.

Well to be fair, as has already been mentioned, we did start the season without 3 props (Peacock, Bailey & Ambler), leaving us with just Leuluai, Burgess & Cross. I know it's incredibly unlucky to lose all three of those for the same game but we did go into the campaign already what I'd call "light". Perhaps, hindsight should've been foresight!

Anyway, lesson learned! From now on, we know not to try and help a rival club.

It's a good thing nobody at the club is making decisions over commisioning of new aircraft carriers, decommisioning of old aircraft carriers and aircraft to fly off them........ It could get quite comical !

That would be pretty silly but as long as they don't then go sabre rattling in the media they might just get away with it.

That's what I'm particularly referring to.....trying to reconcile acting tough when you know your main enforcer ( for a no fly zone in particular ) is being stood down at the very same time. You couldn't make it up.
