| On the subject of recrutment. Has anybody seen anything of Ava Seumanufagai?
He's a big 22 y.o prop (6'4'' 112kg) currently with Wests.
I saw an extended clip of a NSW cup game from last season and the kid had a right game. Runs his size and has a great off load.
GH likes cheap and sometimes unknown. sensible thoughts if anybody knows more please.

That would be the stand at a right angle to the direction of pass? Perhaps not entirely definitive then?
I agree the pass wasn't forward but that wasn't my point which was it would have been questionable had it been directed in front of Vickery's run as he had IMO gone early and overrun the intended pass. Compare and contrast to the timing of the ball from McGuire to Hall in the first half. Hall is a quality wingman.'"
My answer was meant to be ironic in the sense that Webb's passes were most of the time questionably forward. Particularly the flat, cut-out passes.
& I still think that Luke Robinson's pass was questionable, similar to so many to Joel Monaghan, due to the fact that many players find it difficult to pass strongly from left to right.

Mid-term sounds somewhat vague doesn't it. Around which week would you say you threw in the towel? IIRC it wasn't until quite late in the season when everyones position was firmly established.
If you want to make it a personal heads-up challenge for the rounds you entered then we still can. Would you like me to score it week by week to see who performed better over the weekly rounds you were there?
Could have actually been you ...... want to find out ?
Quote: Juan Cornetto "Afraid it will be the same this term so will give it a miss.....so you might even come out on top again!'"
Apt but there's really no need to be afraid. You'd only need be defensive about your relative standing if you felt you know more than the next poster and I don't think that's the case here.

Work meant I missed a few Friday games and sometimes the whole list so I lost interest. Seems to be important to you though. Did you win or something?

I'm a below average tipster as my record in this comp would clearly testify.
Just to clarify what actually happened last year - you dropped out in week 25 of 27 having missed just the one week (19) along the way. Late entries accounted for a further seven missed opportunities but I imagine you accept full responsibility for those.
Quote: Juan Cornetto "so you might even come out on top again!'"
Yet again. I can only beat (or even lose to) those who actually show up so it's something outside my control.
Quote: Juan Cornetto "Work meant I missed a few Friday games and sometimes the whole list so I lost interest. '"
Your choice how late to leave your entry - the thread was usually available all week. I wonder if you'd have lost interest if you were doing well? Up to and including week 14 you had made 96 predictions from a potential maximum of 98. The only two you'd missed to that point were the Thursday games at the start of Easter. You were in Seems to be important to you though. Did you win or something?'"
Hell no but there again I consider myself to be a comparitive know-nowt.
I'm still waiting to hear if you're interested in a direct comparison of our respective weekly results - heads-up - over those nineteen rounds when we both made the maximum number of entries?

| Been there, done that.
Think I might have picked up two this week with Wigan and Catalans sneeking home. Matches my effort from last week. I'm consistent if nothing else.

But you seemed to be making out that your predictions were down to skill?

37727.jpg And last but not least, to all those people that wrote this team off, to all those people that criticized this team...tonight's for you, thank you.
I'll tell you this now, of all the sportsmen I have ever seen, this guy is the most impressive. Clare Balding 6/10/12:37727.jpg |

| Back on topic, I see BM has come to the defence of both Vickery and Achurch in the YEP. He for one obviously thinks some of the criticism is unfair.

| Hard to criticise the players if they are found to be not up to Leeds standard. If that's the case the problem is one of recruitment. Presumably they are McDermott approved signings so it's only to be expected he'll be making defensive comments at this stage.

Anyone remember what the Leeds fans thought of Keith Senior after his first handful of games for Leeds?
Luckily, the coaches and administrators rarely listen to fans who are often too quick to rush to judgment.

| Was that all Leeds fans ?
I were a fan of Keith Senior's style of play long before he arrived at Leeds and had not one doubt that he would soon win over any doubters.
I knew precisely nothing of Vickery prior to the opening round of SL 2013. What I've seen so far reminds me only of Rex Terp, Mark Wilkes and more recently Tom Bush and Michael Coady.
He appears to be a big strong unit (very much in the Senior mould) but thus far has shown nothing to suggest he'll make an impact. No pace, easily handed off by Percival which raises immediate question marks over his defensive technique - Opta recorded four misses last Friday - not that I'm a big fan of their work either.

68506_1348769232.jpg "He's the best coach I've had... His mix of man-management and his game plan is second to none. Since Brian Mac has been in charge, we've been in every final so far. I love playing for him. I can't praise him enough, I've so much respect for him and I hope he's here for a very long time." Kevin Sinfield 29/9/12:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_68506.jpg |

| Someone around now should really come up with a credible motivation for McD playing supposedly poor, supposedly Australian players ahead of supposedly good homegrown alternatives. Otherwise it's the judgement of a very successful coach v. some blokes on the internet. Hmmm....
