I like McDermott and I enjoy his blunt style and honest interviews - they make a refreshing change from the identikit 'it was a tough game, we worked hard, credit to the opposition' comments most players and coaching staff make these days.

Without going into too much detail on the past, McDermott was successful in getting a professional and talented group of players to perform when it counted, often against the odds. You could even argue he got the team to over-perform - especially in 2017. The reasons for our decline - hubris, lack of investment in signings and youth, an over-inflated opinion of the strengths of the players we had - can't all be laid at McDermott's door, but it is difficult to see how the club could have been turned around with him still in post. The same applies to GH - while he's still there, someone like Sinfield is needed to make the necessary changes.

Looks like the club is pretty confident in landing these two signings Agar is after leaving squad numbers 20 and 21 vacant I'm gonna guess

20- Kyle Amor or other British prop
21- Jai Field

Just guess a from who we've been linked with so far in off season although doubt Amor will be leaving Saints as he's been given a squad number for next season but do hope we bring in another prop with decent pedigree and a back who can cover Wing and fullback.

Jai Field looks absolutely rapid. Be good to have some genuine pace again.

We had the golden generation all that time the names rolled off the tongue and of course other era's. It's going to be interesting watching where this takes us

Oledzski has so much potential with his size and stature, but he doesn’t seem to getting any bigger, when he came on the scene I thought he was going to be like a David Klemmer or a wider Alex Walmsley! I hope he can fulfill it.

Oledski should be modelling himself on Paul Gallen. He’s the same build and has the same attributes.

If he did he would be a hell of a player.

I think he’s 20, but he’s been on the scene for a while now and when you are young your size is the thing you develop the most, becoming a top prop does normally happen until your late 20’s. I just really don’t want him to waste his size and potential.

I've heard a few people say things about Jack Walker like - he's not lived up to his potential, Walker, Newman Oledski and Smith are all still very young, I know they've been around the first team squad a while but we still need to give them time to mature and develop, it's very rare in the modern game that a teenager will be almost the complete article, Sam Burgess was but he was a bit of freak and he's ultimately had his career cut short because of how physical he has been and the toll it's taken on his body.

Maybe i dont know enough of Paul Gallen but i see no similarities and their builds are very different. Their stats show that too.

Fallen is short and squat. Not like Oledzki at all.

I would have liked to see Loui McConnell get a squad number but I guess you can only keep so many of the juniors.
They must see something in Dan Waite-Pullan to retain him again, hopefully like young JJB who was constantly injured early in his career but came good aged 22/23.
