| Toopi! I forgot he came, well he kind of didn't mostly. He should have been a great fit for us at the time. Never cut it though.

| As a Newcastle Knights fan, I can say we were all very sad to see Wayne Bennett let Cuthbo go.
Wayne hated the offloads and wasn't a huge fan of Cuthbo, but he would suit our current coach and style down to the ground.
He always had massive stats for us, but because Wayne didn't like his style he was often benched and even dropped to reserve grade.
In short, you pretty much got a bargain because Wayne Bennett only likes robot props who don't offload on penalty of death.

Yeah he's a cracking player and he's style really suits both Leeds and English RL. A bit of a throw back prop.

Toopi was a good player but suffered from injuries and we never saw the best on him, but he was a class player in his prime.

I don't remember him being injured that much but I guess most players play with injuries. Agree he was quality just didn't ever get going for us.
Talking of playing when injured. TC was total quality for me. Talk about earning your money he left it all out on the pitch every week.

| We have had some excellent overseas players over the last few years, buderus, Webb and Ali all top notch.
I then got to think about some of the failures we have had over the years, but decided it was too depressing, so went back to positive thought and added moon with cuthbertson, Kylie and scot Mc Donald to the list.

He was reasonable for us, but otherwise falls foul of not having signed (or even played) for Leeds in the last decade.

| I thought Robbie Mears went well for us but my abiding memory of him was Sonny Nickle breaking his jaw.

Year one yes - year two his mind was back at Brisbane and he was a shadow of the player he was in year one

i agree 100% sal, tonie carrol was fantastic in his first season but sadly never looked looked the same destructive player in his second season, although when he went back home to brisbane he played state of origin and test match rugby, although in the back row
tonie carroll, gareth ellis, darren fleary and adrian morley are the most destructive defenders that i have seen at the rhinos....owch
back on topic
ali is definitely the best overseas player that we have signed in the last decade imo
kylie has done exactly what he was brought over to do and he has been a far better signing than his prior reputation in the nrl would have us all believe he would turn out to become
webb was absolutely sensational for us,he was a fantastic kick returner and was also a very good extra half back who created so many tries with his vision and cut out passes
buderus when fully fit took the 9 role to a completely different level and i am privileged that i saw him play for us

Agree with that. He was on a different planet in the 2011 run in. Absolutely awesome.

| Ali didn't sign in the last decade... But he was our finest overseas player of the last decade.
Brent Webb is clearly a strong contender too.
Buderus was a fantastic player for a much more limited period.
Adam Cuthbertson has started life at Headingley very nicely indeed, and Joel Moon has the potential to be a very good signing. Long way to go for those two though.

| Brent Webb.
Scot Donald didn't turn out too bad either.
