| Smith hasn't exactly shown faith in Myler at halfback to date. I find it hard to believe he'd suddenly decide that he should start there next season.

86.jpg Let all the doubters keep doubting and those who believe keep believing.
We’re only interested in those in the bubble. Anyone who wants to come in the bubble, you can come in.
But you’ve got to keep believing.:86.jpg |

| Myler in the halves alongside a dominant half back would be fine. We've been guilty for too long of trying to make Myler something he isn't, but he's also not a bad player and paired with the right half back partner would be an ok option in the short term.

My big issue with Myler in the halves is that his kicking game, be it long, short, or high is average to poor. I've never see a player fail to find touch from penalty kicks as much as him. So if another half gets injured we are crippled in the field kicking department, perhaps the most important part of the game.

His consistent kicking out on the full nearly got us relegated about 4/5 years ago. I recall him once doing it 3 times in one game.

| Myler+ Sinfield fighting for the second HB spot or back up would be OK.if we have a top class 7 that can kick us around the park and make the big calls/ leadership etc.
An average 6 with Myler at 7 just won't work well enough to get us into top 4/6.

| I could handle Croft + Myler for a year if it meant that Croft does 3 years with NRL clause at the end of year 2. We could then work Sinfield in over the course of 2 years and replace Myler after 2024.

I agree MjM
Myler's best stint in the half back role was when he played alongside Lee Briers at Warrington

| I think we’ll try for a good 6 and then Myler will bring Sinfield through at 7 next year.
Still need more punch in that pack either prop or second row.
If we want to win things again we need to sign some of the best players in the league.
I’ve no idea how Miller will go for us but we need to spend some money on 6, maybe prop and then a 9 would be last on my list. Not sure we have the quality to win the comp with O’Connor or Johnson at 9 at this stage in their development.

I agree with you on most things, but Myler bringing through Sinfield as heir apparent strains credibility for me. Having seen quite a bit of young Jack I'd say he’s 2 maybe 3 years away from being the half back Leeds would need. That's if he continues to develop, and we know that there are no guarantees. Myler, quite simply, has never been the half back Leeds have needed, and to think he would be at 33/34, is wishful thinking. Share your concerns about the hooking role. It's going to be tough to get ourselves back to the top of the ladder.

Absolutely in agreement with this, Sinfield needs some quality half backs around him, to give him the time needed but to also get the best out of him. Mylers done a great job at Leeds but hes not that player.

| Just to be clear I wouldn’t play Myler in the halves unless in desperation but this is what I suspect Leeds might do / it all depends on availability and affordability of players of course.
Jack Sinfield could be a good player but I think his D gets found out a bit at open age.
A really good 6 would make a big difference to Leeds but we need a little more punch in that pack still. If we sign the player Tetevano should have been we will take a step forward.

| With the amount of cap space available, if we end up with Myler as a first choice half next year, somebody wants sacking.

| It would seem odd if that did happen given how few times Smith has picked Myler there to date.

Yeh exactly Owl.
He's playing Johnson there rather than Myler, so would be surprised if he would make him a first choice half next year.

| I'm not sure on this, mylers injured now so obviously playing Johnson, early in the year with half back problems the alternatives at FB haven't been there or injuries in the backs which have prevented him leaning on Handley at FB so much.
One thing's for sure I don't want to see olpherts come in, he was awful for the reserves again.
