| Quote: Sir Kevin Sinfield "You do know the Lamport Stadium in Toronto was regularly getting 8000 for Championship games?
It did take off in Toronto Canada. Our sport has just looked a gift horse in the mouth.
Sadly our small time backward thinking clubs didn’t want Toronto in Super League as they were worried they’d take their place. They were denied a share of the tv money and obstacles put in their way. Instead we will have Wakefield, Featherstone, Leigh. The sports going nowhere.'"
Free tickets can boost a lot if attendances , the Sport hasn,'t looked any gift horse in the mouth at all.
The clueless owners BS empty promises & pr stunts have caught up with him.
Delusional to blame SL for an owners failings the criteria didnt stop Catalans
SL owes TWP nothing.

| Quote: Sir Kevin Sinfield "Toronto Wolfpack are set to add Halifax forward Paul Brearley to their squad in 2021.
League Express can reveal the Wolfpack are close to finalising a deal.
He is Toronto’s second signing from the Championship ahead of 2021, with Brearley set to join Toulouse’s James Bell in Brian McDermott’s squad next season.
Deals for Ryan Hall, Stevie Ward, Richie Myler and Ben Flower are all thought to have been completed for next year too.
Meanwhile, League Express understands current Wolfpack backrower Bodene Thompson has signed a new long-term deal with the club.
Thompson, 31, joined the club last season and has gone on to make 27 appearances for the club, scoring five tries.
A Super League Grand Finalist with Warrington in 2018, Thompson is believed to have signed a multi-year deal with the club and joins the likes of Gareth O’Brien, Matty Russell and Anthony Mullally in committing to the club.

Catalans get a share of the sky tv money, Toronto do not.
Catalans entered our league system in Super League, Toronto entered in League One. Catalans do not pay away teams travel costs, Toronto do pay away teams travel costs. Catalans were exempt from relegation for 3 years, Toronto were not given any exemption.

Another sh#*t show & unfortunately i can see a few going into Admin or folding.
Many of them seem keen enough to get their seasons back on track but it doesnt seem viable from the outside looking in but i also think the Leagues coulld havd been given a bit more time to come up with solutions.

As soon as TWP were promoted talks were ongoung about scrapping relegation.
Catalans also brokered their pwn tv deal with cansl+ SKY used to piggy back iff thst coverage so get that straight.
Catalabs also had a clear business plan & a strong enough support base from the owner downwards with a clear interest in RL in that area.
Toronto OFFERED to oay travel as a condition of their entry into our League mate so that woe is us BS doesnt wash.
They came with promise after promise about big tv deals spinsorzhip in Canada etc etc & fsiled to deliver.

Toronto are too far away out on a limb to have ever worked , it was a ridiculous stunt right from the start and was always going to fail . Some players saw them as a cash cow and got paid more than they ever would by an English team and others such as Wilkin and S.W.B have just topped up their pension funds .
Toronto were going to get their own T.V. deal
Toronto were going to produce their own players
If they are crying the poor tale now it is for reasons such as 1. The money wasted on a washed up S.W.B AND 2. The owner is looking at a new Toy to invest his money

| We'll see, if they take this reprieve to really get their house in order for 2021.
I have bigger concerns about the clubs in the lower tiers. Unless they get a decent share of the government bailout they could be in serious trouble.

| Something is seriously wrong with a sport whereby teams are better off furloughing their staff than continuing to play

| Unprecedented times Sal unfortunately. Many businesses are in the same boat and only the full financial ruin will be seen when furlough is over.
So many businesses are being run on debt and have no cash in the bank whatsoever. RL is certainly no different.

I agree - but something is wrong when clubs use the ST monies to see them through the winter they should be building up reserves during the season to see them through the Winter - robbing Peter to pay Paul. Then have to emotionally blackmail their customers not to ask for a refund

| TWP get no share of the Sky TV deal and cannot play any games at home this season ,so in reality what were we expecting to happen . If they play games their costs increase but their revenue is still nothing or minimal . Whether they should have done better in obtaining a TV deal themselves is another matter , but if Argyle is paying the wages for this season (not a fact I know either way) then at least the players are OK .
I do not know if Canada had a furlough scheme , maybe others know this, but our clubs have been using this even to the extent of not paying academy players their wages , which in most cases isn't exactly a lot .
Next season most clubs are not going to pay their current 2nd year academy players (unless they have a first team contract) and so expecting them to play for free on amateur terms .
The timing seems very much a case of they realised P&R was being scrapped , but maybe there was a clue with Liam Kay signing for Wakey .
There is talk of the Championship clubs and League 1 clubs having a "meaningful competition" this autumn , whatever that means . But if so they could potentially have fans back in the grounds to make this worthwhile .
