I’d be stunned if Furner was sacked even if we lose next 4 in a row. We were poor at end under mCD, no better under lowes/sinfield and now still pretty poor under Furner. We need to take a 2/3 year view for mine.

Unless there is real division in the camp (I've not seen anyone show any signs of that) Sacking Furner could actually have a detrimental effect, I know this is SS.com and there's always been a 'coach' out mentality but I'm firmly of the opinion that Sacking Furner will not get any more from this bunch of players, it would be the opposite.

we have not got 2-3 year view though have we, lose the next 4 or 3 of next 4 and religation is a real possibility, so far Furner has not shown he can get the best out of the group of players, regardless of how bad or the squad is perceived, we need to see improvements particularity on defense and we need results sooner not later. For the record i don't want Furner sacked but i don't want to lose 3 or 4 of the next 4 games either. We need to simply stop shipping in 3-4 soft tries every game and giving away cheap yards soft yards and cheap penalties, hopefully Agar may have had a positive impact on defense, but our defense need to improve and we need to start shipping in 50% less points (at least) and we should start winning some games.

The lack of quality in the squad and specifically leadership is the problem. A coach can’t solve that overnight.

Merrin coming in adds a leader. You need a few more. There was a vacuum left when Sinfield, Peacock and McGuire moved on.

I think relegation is possible now and will be whoever is the Coach. Totally agree about the defence. FWIW if we can get a few more forwards fit and Merrin and Ava in , plus hopefully Watkins gets better we will be Ok but by that I mean 11th or 10th. I think a 4th coach in under 12 months could seal relegation but let’s hope we see more of the performance v cas in next few weeks rather than HKR.

Apart from half of the Saints game I haven't seen anything to impress me from Furner, but there's not a prayer of him being sacked so soon.

Hopefully yes. i still have nightmares about Dean lance is was obvious after about 10 games he was useless and we had him for a whole year more. Don't want the same with Furner, he has not got a good record as a head coach so far.

Completely understand what you're saying but looking at the season so far we have very few positives - Hurrell, Walker (for the most part), Dwyer, growing performances from Merrin and lots of tries from Handley being the main ones. There's absolutely no doubt that Hurrell's been central to Handley's haul but when we're struggling so much I don't see why we'd break what isn't broken? His job on the wing is to finish moves and he's done that more than anyone in the league. I'm not for a second suggesting he's the best winger in the league by any stretch BUT when we have so few positives why would we change one of the few things that's actually working well. I'd be more concerned as to why the ball's never making it to the other side of the pitch and like others on here I'd have thought Watkins ought to be at serious risk of his spot currently.

The one thing I would pick out there, is the bit about finishing moves. The truth is, despite top try scorer, his finishing is actually very poor. He has bombed a hell of a lot of try's. He is AWOL on a lot of occassions.

But like I said earlier, in truth over the previous couple of games, Briscoe would be the one more in trouble.

Not seen him bomb many tries to be honest and we have far more problems than Handley . We should be 2nd favorites against Midgets as they have better players than us . A decent team would walk all over Wakey with their injuries but we are not a decent team .

This game is will be Watkins 250th game for the club so doubt Newman will play now, hope Watkins can return to some form soon.
