| Quote: Juan Cornetto "You are over reacting. No maybes about it. Do you know for sure Singleton was dropped? Do you know if he is carrying an injury?
'"
I've seen no injury reported. Still, even if Singleton was injured (do you know for sure he was?) I'd rather see a.n. other warm body ahead of the BFG.
Quote: Juan Cornetto "Or in the light of the long term injury to Ward, who some now say was overplayed, could it be that Singleton with his physical direct style is not being overplayed in the hard yards SL position of prop. Perhaps he is being rotated and not risked in a game which we should easily win but instead kept fresh and fit for the up coming playoffs? It would be ironic that those that criticised McDermott for not rotating players are now doing the same when he does. Now that is what you call very predictable!'" Who has said Ward was overplayed? As pointed out, I have said he was used wrongly. I opined I would have been interested to see him given Sutcliffe's role. How is that suggesting "overplayed" when I wanted him played as a pivot?
If he is being rested for the bigger games and McDermott selects him when it matters rather than an out of form, ineffective and workshy BFG I will happily concede I had McDermott wrong. I won't hold my breath.

| Is there an under 19s game this week? If he's playing then he's been dropped, which seems unfair. If he's not, he's injured / rested.
Personally, at their stage of development, I wouldn't object to the young lads getting the odd week off. The physical step up to SL should not be underestimated.

| Singleton can't play for the u19's anymore and they got beat by Wigan on Monday night but Duckworth and Foster played.

I personally would be giving the likes of JP a weeks rest and have him charged up for the run in.
If our coach has no confidence in the likes of Singleton or thinks he is over playing him.
Then let him play Thursday and "rest" him for the more cruicial games.
It does not make sense at all.
If the team is picked on merit then Singleton should be in the 17 every time and Kirke should be playing for Hunslet.
Any news when Achurch is back as no doubt that will push Singleton down the pecking order even further?

My thoughts too. His performance in his last outing was down on his usual.

despite being 109 JP is flogged for 60/70 minutes every week.
he may have a knock but i'm guessing it's another odd decision from our coach

| Singleton is injured so at least we know for now he isn't out of the team whilst the Coaches pet is selected.

But some folks don't let such a small think as fact get in the way of having a cheap snipe at the coach.
Classic Southstanders!

So you think its an odd decision by the coach to rest a young player who is carrying an injury. And whats all this "flogged" nonsense. JP like JJB and Delaney have the determination and stamina to maintain high performance with little need for long rests. I'm guessing you grasp any excuse to maintain your agenda.

| Whilst it seems Singleton is injured which might explain his exclusion.
What is the reason for sticking with Kirke?
I have yet to see him put in a good performance either going forward or defending.
Whilst he might train the house down he offers very little on a matchday.
It will be interesting who makes way for Singleton when he is fit.
My guess will be Moore or possibly Clarkson.

| Just checked my ticket that I bought from our club shop and it still says Monday 5th August - I'm guessing they didn't bother re-printing and that it'll still be valid?
Anyone got a ticket with tomorrows date on it?

| Mine say Monday. Hardly unexpected given the short notice given by Sky.
