| Quote: Sal Paradise "Quote: Sal Paradise "unfortunately i think that is unrealistic. Performances like that are not sustainable over a long period. This group of players has shown an ability to raise their game to a level that others cant hit, but that has a pay back in term of what it does to your body. Our club has been unrivalled in getting our key players available and at 100% come play off time. Question is do people want an entertaining team, or a sucessful one?
To some extent we shkuld make hay whilst the sun shines. We may have to wait a long time for another group of players a special a this one. I'd prefer to see this group continue to write they name into the history books, but then again, I'm not a season ticket holder'"
They should be attainable on a weekly basis - that is what a squad is for, a team of this quality should be able to compete with the likes of Huddersfield any week of the year.
What I cannot understand is why they can get up for the GF yet play so appallingly in the CC?'" i cant work that out either. Maybe the timing of the final doesnt fit well with the scheduling of the end of season peak?

| As long as we have this ridiculous eight team play-off system then we can afford to put in poor performances, just like Friday night, safe in the knowledge that there is a big fat cushion we can fall into come season’s end.
I don’t for one minute think that we threw the game intentionally but this was not the same team that beat Saints the previous week and a million miles from the team that played in the WCC.

Unfortunately, the Rhinos brand appeals to many of those south-of-the-river types these days. No class whatsoever. I preferred it back in the day when they stayed on their own side of the river and supported Hunslet instead.

| GH was clearly unhappy with how the majority of the season went last year, as he had one eye on season-ticket sales for this year. I doubt he'll be too happy if this one goes the same way, even if we do win the GF. However, he's stuck in a bit of a quandary as the squad has continued to deliver trophies and its hard for him to intervene too directly, especially with senior players making adoring comments about McDermott.
I don't buy this 'thin squad' argument either. Are people seriously suggesting that the majority of the team is physically incapable of putting in a decent effort more than once every two weeks, especially early in the season? I can see Peacock and Leuluai having issues due to age , but if that's the case McDermott should rotate them. If they continue to put their hands up to play then its their responsibility to turn up, and McDermott's to 'rest' them if they look knackered.
Was Warrington's squad so much bigger than Leeds last year? They played just one game less than Leeds, won the CC and were runners up in the GF, and yet played at a pretty good level throughout the regular season as well. Their GF loss was certainly nothing to do with fatigue.

Aye I hate those that cross the river to watch rugby.........

| From an outsiders POV, the Super League Full Time show detailed a Leeds completion rate of 50%.
That was poor and unlike Leeds of previous weeks was out of character.
McDermott will know the complettion rate lost you the game just as much as Brough won it for Huddersfield.
Leeds are far, far better than 50% completition rate and will improve unquestionably.

| I'm surprised we had a 50% completion rate.
At the game it seemed more like 30-40%.

| I really hope they give (football) Brian McDermott the Leeds Utd job now, if only to mess with the YEP.
