The old RFL building is a community One Stop centre or something like that now.
The cheap sods still haven't replaced the windows though, got the XIII logo engraved on them.  |

I can just imagine the current rentee of the premises moaning like hell one day about how the RFL logo is still etched into the glass after all these years, when one of his secretary's walks over to the window and states, "Oh its no etched, its just a blind, look"  |

I went in most of the above establishments when they were at their roughest , and some of them were nowhere near as bad as they were said to be .
I have seen people waving guns around in the streager (have waved one around myself at the lights ) . The Barcelona was a kids pub . UD (VD) was full of wannabes fron Bramley and Armley . Warrens was ok if you didn't mind a good old brawl . Villager and Cardigan at Bramley were ok places to go if you knew everyone in there . Greene was ok . The dives in the city centre were fun places to hang out (especially the Whip) .Hayfield wasn't too bad . ... I could go on ..
Wondering why the Daisy aint had a mention yet .
BTW .. Anyone want apair of vinyl lettered tin signs that came off the walls of the Astoria just prior to it getting flattened ?

Only bouncer I remember there was Girbon (sp) I think was his name, once played cricket with him on a company day thing where one of the employees knew him and he pretended to work for us. He looked like Viv Richards only twice his size. Good at cricket too. |
