| Why are fans so obsessed with recruitment?
Virtually the only times Leeds have ever been successful in its history was when the young lads was brought through into the 1st team.
That's the way the club should be going.

It’s not mutually exclusive is it? The youth will take years from this point to mature, during which time we’re probably out of the running.
If we want to challenge easier, and if we want to give the youth good role models and to fill some gaps, we still need more/.better recruitment.
Agree that our future success is very much reliant upon us bringing the academy talent through.

| Regarding marquee players.....
Seeing as we have 2 new stands, Would it be possible to offset 50% of Hurrells salary as being a turnstile. He lets more through than an average attendance at a London Broncos home game.

| My point about recruitment is that we should recruit the best youths available and these tend to also be the fastest.
Our golden era came when dean bell recruited the best youths available
He then went to Wigan and they copied the model and unlike us they have stuck with it.
Young smithies is from Yorkshire I think why didn't we get him.
Why are Wigan and saints getting the best yorkshire talent.
We should also try to get the best Lancashire talent like we did with Watkins and sinny.
Build a team with the best locals and top up with a few absolute top class marquee players.
Like we did before.

| Robinson and Hanley were Yorkshire lads too. Sometimes we just miss players because we can’t sign them all. Sometimes the Lancashire clubs throw big money at bolter players.
We’ve clearly not been getting it right for way too long and now we’re years off fixing it; even though we started addressing the issues at junior level a couple of years ago.

It's very hard spotting talent especially forwards some young lads look world beaters often the oldest in their age group who don't all kick on.Some are late developer's like Peacock.
Walters probably the best young second row was either missed by Wigan and Saints maybe he looked ordinary,or he may just wanted to sign for Widnes.I do think we can improve our scouting but it can be a bit of a lottery.

| Think we all know we need a cull, some players just not good enough or worst not trying hard enough this year, we need to bring in 3-4 more class players and promote a few young players, who do people think should go, some are obvious others juries out. I will start with the following.
JJB to retire anyway expect Ablett too to retire.
Ferres speaks for it self awful signing and never looked interested.
Singleton, championship standard at best.
Sutcliffe had enough time enough chances, his complete no show on Thursday last straw for me, time to ship out, another champion player a team best.
Myler, I have defended him before but just not doing enough, new half to partner lui needed.
Peteru, just not good enough and injury prone plus takes up Quota spot
Crosby, not played all season and nothing special anyway.
Both Briscoes, surely we can find a better winger than either of them, both liabilities under high ball and in defence and both make too many simple errors, we must have better options around than them.
Golding, clearly not wanted anyway, time we paid him out and released him if we do not want him.
Ward, plays 4-5 games a year in between being n the sick bed year after year, it's inevitable that he will only last 4-5 games next year again.
With mellors coming in, like to see Trout and particularly Walters who looks ready to step up already, oledsji and holroyd, Broadbent and Johnson all to get promoted to first team next year.
New half, one ready made super league standard winger, one more prop similar to Ava.

| Great, another fantasy squad builder post. Yes, there are players who aren't good enough, but they are under contract. Unless another club wants them and three player wants to go, we are stuck with them.
The ones who are out of contact, we should say goodbye to

| Good number 7 and a good prop will make us significantly better next year. Whether we can make it happen is another question
