I may be wrong mate but i read it as signing a new player or a current player extending their deal with a pay rise???

Right didn't know that I just assumed you could use it on anyone who fit over the cap. I didn't hear it from any reliable source or anything so I'm probably wrong!

| As I understand it If a player is trained by the club a marquee player takes £175k off the cap and if club trained only £100k. So Wigan only lose £100k on Tomkins and in theory Leeds could use to pay Watkins.
If Leeds do they are probably only paying him just over £100k anyway.

74527_1452367614.jpg [b:myocm3z2]Wigan Warriors will always be the biggest club in the world of rugby league

| I have been told that Sam's contract at the Wigan Warriors has hardly broken the bank and that he actually wanted to come home
Although I'd guess that he is paid more than any Rhinos player currently

Suppose if Wigan pay him £150k and use marquee rule they buy themselves £50k for other players.
If you really are the man himself, I apologise unreservedly for any comments that may have been misconstrued at the back of the stand in Huddersfield whilst waiting for helicopter to return last year. To be honest I am not sure anyone could accomodate the league leaders shield in such a manner.

| Its an odd one. Peats is turning out to be a very good player this year. The Eels will have to find someone willing to pay at least part of his salary if they offload him though, and I can't see many teams would want to do so even if they have cap space.

| Nathan Peats has joined the Titans for the remainder of the 2016 season and 2017 with immediate effect.
Does this mean Nathan Friend is now available?

| In the YEP GH admitted the three players who have recently retired have not been adequately been replaced .I would expect a mini clear out at the end of season , but it will take awhile to rebuild no matter who he brings in

| Perhaps he should first find the promised adequate replacement for Danny Buderus before moving onto Sinfield, Peacock and Leuluai.

Didn't se that coming, especially seen as the titans already had Friend, Mosely (sp?) Mortimer and Srma on their books.
While clearly not a long term option Friend is a great professional and the sort of overseas signing I'd like to see, even at his age.

| Unless we're getting rid of one of McGuire, Sutcliffe or Lilley then we don't need a halfback. We've got decent cover for the back 5 with Keinhorst, Handley & Golding.
Once they're all fit and firing we've got a decent pack though if possible you can never really have enough cover for the pack. Though we've also got Baldwinson to come through plus I'm sure Mullalley will get more gametime next year.
The obvious gaping hole is at hooker. Poorly filled early in the season though Burrow has been very good there more recently I'd still rather have a proper hooker. I think Aiton showed us the benefit of a proper one in 2015 and we need another.
Some people have mentioned Pelissier who looks good whenever I see him but that is only rarely so I've not got much to go on. I'd also rather not have another small hooker, I think it's time we had one who packed a punch in defence.
Am I right in saying that the only confirmed departure so far is Achurch? If so it's hardly a gaping void to fill.

In spite of being bottom of SL, out of the CC and season effectively over inside 92 days, are there any turds you haven't yet coated in sugar this season?
Apart from Achurch, that is.

| The main priority for next year is someone to lead us around the park i.e. in the Gidley, Campese, Brown (Widnes), Brough mould. I would suggest at this stage that Green or Widdop from NRL are the front runners. Also a desperate need for a solid hooker with good distribution skills. If Nathan Friend has come available, even at he's age is top of my list, that is if Clarke isnt coming !!

Think you are correct as it stands. achurch is leaving, JJb, Ferres and Falloon Are all out of contract at end of year. Getting the balance right is tricky but with Leeds having no back up hooker who can defend in middle it is a big blow that Falloon has hardly played and when he has done Has played injured v saints.
Agree with cosworth comments about main 2 priorities to give best chance of competing for honours next year "
