| Quote: Harrigan "So, Rory rescued his round. +2 after 3 and at one point was -3.
Tiger should be 2 shots better off. Hole 14 was one of the most unluckiest shots I have ever seen. His pitch shot hit the flag flush about 3 inches up and spun back into the pond. An inch to the left or right and that's a 2ft birdie putt. Instead he walked off with a bogey.
Good to see Freddie still near the top. Which major was it a couple of years back where he was in contention after the 3rd round?
Jason Day's birdie on 17 has knocked so many players out too including GMac. The cut is +5 and there were a ton of players on that.
The best story of the day is the 14 year old Chinese kid making the cut, despite getting a 1 stroke penalty for slow play. What he has done is amazing considering that some of the best players in the world have missed the cut.
So, tomorrows moving day. I think +5 will be leading after tomorrow so whoever has a solid round will be in with a shout.'"
Tiger's shot was at the 15th there is no water at the 14th. How long before 6 hour rounds are the norm - what do these do for 5+ hours!! There should be a time limit 4 hrs 15m measured at 6th, 12th, 15th- if players are behind that time limit at any point they should excluded. That a young kid gets a time penalty shows what the future holds.

| Go freddie! It was here in 2010 when he was in contention up to the back 9 but faded to finish 6th.seems to love it at augusta, hope he can sustain it till sunday.
Rory has been far from his best first two days but still only 4 shots back.it seemed to click on the back 9 and i expect him to make a real charge now.

You can't say that's the future of golf from 1 round by the kid. He's 14, playing as an amateur, in his 1st masters knowing that he has a very good chance of making the cut. I bet now he's in there won't be any time problems today. I wasn't saying he didn't deserve it by the way. I was just passing comment that he received it. It's not the norm either. 5 hour rounds are normal in majors because every shot means so much. You rarely get that in a regular PGA tour event.
And stop bring pedantic, it was late. You knew which hole I meant

I can see similar happening this week too. There are a lot of good holders in contention going into the weekend. I think today we may see a couple drop away. I think Rory has been solid so far. He's had a couple of bad holes but so has everyone. Look at Fowlers tripple bogey when he was pushing for the lead yesterday. Anyone under par has a shot at the moment. I think we will see some exiting stuff today.

| Iv just seen something on SkySports where Tiger could be disqualified for his drop on 15. He dropped the ball 2 yards behind where he played his original shot which apparently should incur a 2 shot penalty. As that would make his score a 73 and he signed for a 71, he would be DQ'd.

Remember when Mark Roe signed for the wrong score and got DQ'd at the Open a few years back? Sure his playing partners got DQ'd aswell? Does the same rule apply now?

| So a 14 year old kid get's a 1 shot penalty for slow play even though there were plenty of others going slower, Tiger Woods is gonna get disqualified for dropping a ball 2 yards the wrong way/signing for wrong score but Vijay Singh can use illegal drugs and still play? Gotta love golf eh?

| I'm a massive Tiger Woods fan but can't believe he got away with a 2 stroke penalty, anyone else would have been DQ'd for signing their scorecard wrong!
Hope he goes on to win still though, imagine the controversy

| Should be DQd. He admitted playing from the wrong place! He would go up in my estimation if he DQd himself!

5 hour rounds are common place on the US tour - he is a very young player who should be capable of playing at a good pace. At the Wells Fargo the average time time was 4hr 40 mins.
Pedantic - no just correcting your errors

Why should he - why didn't the on course rules official or his playing partners point that out to Woods when he took an illegal drop?
This only came to light when a tv viewer point the error out - I suppose he didn't keep the point at which the ball crossed the hazard between himself and the hole?

| The stupid thing is, the officials reviewed it at the time and said it was ok. It's only Woods' press conference interview that made them take the decision to penalise him. It's a strange one. Tiger didn't know he was in the wrong because he was told he hadnt done anything wrong at the time. To me, it seems like the officials messed up and as they told him it was ok in the 1st place, they cant DQ him but to save face they have penalised him.

| The issue for me is there is only a select few players who would got away without being DQ. Also regarding the slow play they need to look at the rules regarding this. There are some very bad offenders who know there way around the rules and speed up and then slow back down.

I honestly believe the incident wasn't reviewed by the officials at the time, but they have found a handy way to keep the world No 1 in the competition
