I used to go to a farm with my old man when we were on holiday when we were kids, near Pickering. The farmer had a prize-winning bull (I forget the name - of farmer and bovine) which he was very fond of. Sweet little thing, about the size of an armoured personnel carrier. It used to like to be "tickled" between its eyes. The only trouble was, in order for the thing to feel the tickling, it was done with a lump hammer. Not too hard mind, but harder than you could reasonably be expected to do it with your knuckles.
The moral is that big, meaty, bony heads require tough love.
