| we don't know what went on behind the scenes. it could be leeds wanted to get shut to free up cap space.i think his best days are way behind him but either way i will applaud him onto the pitch and he should be inducted into the southstander hall of fame when he retires. a true leeds legend.

I think that was the case. You cannot play a two hooker system with a lightweight ball playing loose forward - It just leaves you too light in the pack. Because of that Leeds just got battered in the pack last year. And I think Leeds.Brian Mac realised this and saw Diskin as the one to go.

Once again, good man Tad. He'll do a job for us till O'Brien comes through. Anyone who can do to us what he did at OT in 2004 will be welcome in my book.

| I still hope this does'nt comeback to bite to us afterall he's still only 28.
I wish him well and think our future is safe with Mcshane and Hood but Buderus is 32 now and i think it's a bit of a gamble although i would'nt of given Disko a 3yr deal straight up either.

I think he'll do a solid and sound job for us, but I also think it was a win-win. You picked the time to move on, and we needed a good solid starting hooker. I am chuffed we signed one of the best hookers in the game; will give us some stability and grunt up front at a time when we could do with it, and our starting front row will hold its own against anyone now. Thank you. And you guys have now jumped a generation, so are very well placed for the next few seasons.

Frankly what do you expect reading a rag like the YEP ?
If they're not surgically being removed from the backside of PR machine of Elland Road, they're sucking up to the likes of Cas & Wakefield. Kinda suggests that their target readership isn't a Leeds-based one ?

doing great thanks adey, piling on the weight like his grandad!!!!!!!
don't think diskin will be anything like his 04 form.he had to adapt his game after his kneee reconstruction. he became more of a cunningham than a roby shall we say. he became cleverer because he didn't have the pace anymore.
i think he will do well for you. i think he had got stale and needed a change. last season i thought he was poor but i fully expect him to have a big season this year. hopefully not against us though

He seemed to have a lot of time on his hands, every time I asked for a property viewing or to exchange documents he seemed to have a very open schedule. What do people actually think a rugby players typical day involves? Training the house down working the 9 till 5? Hardly.
What about Burrows Physiotherapy business? When will his commitment be in question? What about when JJB, Willie and Sinny we're doing their sports science degree? Which I would imagine was pretty demanding. Ok there is nothing like been a part time director of 'a fast growing company' but come on...'"
Tut Tut
You mis-understand the general aim of business, unless you love the industry you're in enough to eat / sleep / breathe it, the general idea is to make a pile of cash to make you life comfortable.
If the players have got any sense, they'll have employees doing the day to day stuff whilst they train and deal with their rugby training etc. and just cream off the profit made from the venture.
Good luck to Disko ... Hopefully, he's got his company well enough established during the 'good' times to survive a possible housing price crunch that might be out there.

| If Diskin merits entry into a [i'Hall Of Fame'[/i then make sure it's stipulated that it's exclusively a [i'RHINOS Hall Of Fame'[/i.
At least that way, there's a clear distinction between the celebration of solid and unspectacular Super League dross from the real stars of the game who exhibited real talent as LOINERS.

I mis-understand the aim of business. Wow. A bold statement that.
People we're simply questioning Diskins ability to put 100% into his rugby when he will have a very hectic lifestyle running his own business, I dismissed those suggestions, as to me the business seemed very small at that stage, small enough for him to concentrate on his rugby. At the moment as far as I am aware he is a one man band at present.
Sure Diskin is bright enough to realise at some point in the future he may need to take 1 or 2 staff members on, so he can carry on doing the job he loves and securing the extra income from that. That will be his ultimate aim, and that is where you start to reap in the rewards of taking the gamble of going into business.

On the contrary, employing 1 or 2 staff members is where you start to spend money that would have otherwise stayed in your pocket UNLESS they are dedicated to bringing in ADDITIONAL business to that which you have already managed yourself, if they are admin staff designed to make your life easier then they are emptying your wallet, nothing less.
One other point to bear in mind is that at the point where you employ someone to bring in ADDITIONAL business you automatically raise your professional rates to cover their additional overheads (which can be large) and in doing so may unintentionally price yourself out of the niche market that you established for yourself.

Dude you really need to stop living in the past – top grade Professional Rugby League in this country resides in the Super League, live with it.
Or would you still hanker after them ‘good ol’ days’ when you could pay your way into a game, have a couple of pints, pie & peas, bit of a punch-up, bus home and still have change from a farthing?
Actually I’m a little surprised you’ve managed to get to grips with this new fangled tinternet thingy. I’m betting you went on one of those silver surfer courses that the council run after picking up a flyer in your local library while trying to keep warm because heating costs are ridiculous these days and the winter fuel allowance the Government gives you hardly covers gas let alone the electricity and you dare not put two bars on the fire – forget all three.
