| Quote: HRS Rhino "Interesting in an article about honesty that he insinuates a lot about Leeds without having the gumption to say it, such as "I'm not saying the culture is bad at Leeds but..." and "I'm not saying it was dishonest at Leeds but...". Obvious interpretation of his chat with Sinny was that he was told he wasn't needed and knew it.'"
Yep. Didn’t think it would last long between Singleton and Sinfield. 2 very different attitudes towards professionalism.

Does lend more weight to the idea that Furner was not doing well at all with the squad he inherited...'"

| Quote: Brodie123 "Its sad when you hear ex players talking under the word of honesty, (but), candidly here was one player who did not perform last season and his chat with Sinfield no doubt left him with no other option than to leave Leeds, last season he let the club down, the supporters down and himself down. Here is a guy who is still lucky to be playing SL but on his departure under a veiled threat still has a go at the club he left. I could understand any player who wants to play in the NRL leaving any SL club, but to move away from one of the biggest clubs in SL if not the biggest to move to Toronto or any other club in SL are kidding themselves if they think they are a better player and deserve better than what was on offer at Leeds. Singleton I will remember you as no more that what I try and remove from my shoe after walking the dog on the park. Last season you was poor at best and candidly short changed the fans and the club by your underperformance. Good riddance.'"
Yeah you've got to view it that way with Singleton. He had clearly not been giving his best at Leeds. Sinfield was dead right in his assessment that a lot of the current squad had lost what it meant to play for Leeds.

Didn’t see much from Singleton all season. The only thing of note I remember him doing was getting sent off v Catalans. As it happens it turned out ok but that was an exceedingly stupid thing to do at a vital part of our season.

| Should be tasty when we play Toronto then.
He gives me the impression that he can be a bit of a thug with sly off the ball hits and the like.
I`m sure there`s a good player in there and a change of clubs might well bring out the best in him.

Sinfield didn't join until after McDermott was sacked, but I can see where you are coming from, I'm sure Sinfeld's "the club is rotten" comments were aimed at McDermott, although to be fair to Sinfield it seems he was spot on.

| It’s impossible to say really unless you were “in the bubble”. McD brought great success to Leeds for a long time. You can argue it was an alignment of stars but he must have been one of them.
I guess though that as much as people’s strengths show over time, so do their weaknesses and McD is also pretty arrogant and opinionated. I liked him but I know others didn’t.
One thing for sure at Leeds is that post McD the culture will have been all over the place, and it will still be changing now. Whatever Brian believed in was in the DNA of Leeds by that point in his tenure; change that and you create some turmoil until a new tribe forms.

I agree, clearly Sinfield and McDermott didn’t see eye to eye by the end and I don’t think the blame for that is entirely one sided.
However during McDermott’s tenure recruitment was the ultimate responsibility of Hetherington. I’m not saying other things weren’t wrong but GH has to take equal blame at least for the “club being rotten”.
Now of course that responsibility is on Sinfield. I think he’s doing a good job so far personally. If we have people with the wrong mindset or attitudes then let’s get rid where we can. What won us the numerous trophies and the treble was skill combined with attitude.

Oh don't get me wrong I'm far from one the McDermott 'bashers' in fact I was sticking up for him pretty much right up until the end but then I think it was an away game at Wigan and you could tell that something wasn't right at all within the club/squad and something had to change.

It wasnt all down to Hetherington i remember McD giving the go ahead to sign Krasniqi withhis agent but when he found out they had rung GH to discuss terms before he'd spoke to GH he pulled the plug , he also cut Cross Senior & Ali whilst giving the ok for Vickery & Falloon.

| The biggest crime of the MCD era is not any individual player decisions but the lack of succession planning. I don't know whose fault that is but it was criminal and now we are paying the price.

None of which is signed off without Hetherington’s ok.

| Mcdermott always came across as arrogant and just plain bloody rude most of the time. As for Singleton and his insinuations he has been very lucky getting a gig at Toronto, when he is plainly championship standard and always has been
