As for Senior vs Godden, I agree with Gibbo.no.1, Godden remains the best Leeds centre I've seen in the past 30 years. Senior isn't exactly far behind but he was more brute strength and power (not undesirable qualities) but Godden was just a little, skilful genius.

It's between Godden and Tony Currie for me. Currie had amazing pace of the mark. I can still see him flying over for a great try off a John Holmes reverse pass in John Player Cup game against Wigan. Went on to play for the Kangaroos to.

Never had the pleasure of seeing Holmes or Currie live in action but I’ve seen plenty of film and my dad used to tell me a lot about them both. He also always said Clues was the best prop he’s ever seen at Leeds. My dad passed away last year at 84 and followed Rhinos since he was a teen so he’d seen them all.

Craig Innes in his final year with us was some player, could have gone on to be one of our best ever.

Yes Innes was great, arguably Doug's best signing if you discount Ellery. But he blotted his copy book with the way he left.

Mick Worrall was up there with the Mcdermott era project signings. At least Doug got rid pretty quickly rather than letting them see out a contract and trying over and over to make it work.

No his team, apart from Ellery who had been replaced by Dean Bell in theory, was still intact when he left in the summer of '95 and finished runners up in the first season after he left. It was from there that it went to **** although the signs were there pretty much I'd say from when Bell swapped Paul Cooke for Carl Hall and then inexplicably let James Lowes go.

My dad used to work with lowes' dad.if hetherington had offered an extra year he would have stayed. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Lowes had already left when Hetherington came in.
