| What bugs me is that the two obstruction penalties were fine ones at best. Far worse will happen and not get blown for.
The Matty Smith knock on was a joke. Is the video ref no longer allowed to intervene ?

I'm gonna go both, some stuff like the knock on before charnleys try were just poor. Others are harder to justify...for example how come Ash Hanley's clear try was referred to the VR but not Wigan's almost identical try mins before.

| I wouldn't worry too much, you were clearly the better side. Some sublime play, I don't get too excited with tries in SL from a neutral's perspective but that 'no try' was absolutely brilliant.
You're top, a win would have sewn up the top spot, Wigan had to win or the rest of the season would have been meaningless, seen it all before.
Silverwood, complete joke. That Matty Smith knock on, i was convinced he said to him that he knocked on, as Smith was protesting his innocence yet Wigan still get the scrum?

| Thought we were on the end of some poor decisions tonight. The knock on by Smith could have been ruled by the video ref and the disallowed try looked a tough call.
That said a lot to be pleased about. We competed well throughout, our destiny is in our own hands and we seem to be out of the mid season slump.

| I thought as the try was in the build up there was an obstruction. Silverpud going upstairs with a no try was the difference. If it had gone up with try it would have been given imo.

That's a pretty poor attempt at trolling.
Overall - 2/10. I would say try harder, but I suspect you were.

| I didn't expect us to win tonight but we came very close and in the end it was poor ref decisions that were the difference. I agree with all that has been said about the try that wasn't but should have been and the try was but shouldn't have been. I would be more concerned about tonight's game if I were a Wigan fan than I am as a Leeds fan. If that's the best they can produce at home with a ref seeing it their way!
Only worry for me was that Hall looked out of sorts, thought both in defence and attack he was poor. Also I hope Handley's knock isn't serious, he looked to be struggling for the last 5-10 minutes

| A cracking game....spoiled (not for the first time) by incompetent refereeing. I don't want to labour a point but the video ref "innovation" has to be binned. IMO it is ruining the game....such a wonderful try chalked off for a bluddy techicality which in 'real time' was barely noticed. It would not be so bad if video refereeing was consistent, but it is not...and when to use it is also inconsistent. It certainly has not diminished controversial decisions...it has added to them. Games without the frame by frame rewinds in televised games are much better. I am labouring the point I guess now....but how many exciting moments have been lost to the painful rewinds and further frame by frame rewinds...back and forth. Tedious !
As for the game Watkins was disappointing....really thought the extra space would give him chance to shine. I never expected him to be as good as Hardaker defensively, but he also looked inferior in attack too. A real talent but after tonight a proven non FB.
Cuthbertson...what a signing !!! Absolutely wonderful to watch. Better than Graham for being an excellent prop with the hands of a halfback.

| handleys injury is probably going to coincide with briscoe being fit so that might remove a difficult decision for brian. Ash pulled off a great tackle even on one leg.

the refs like it because it allows cowards like Silverwood to avoid making decisions or worse look for a reason to deny trys. Silverwood came into the game with a clear agenda and was able to influence the result. The Rfl will be happy that wigan are kept in contention

| No problem at all with the VR. Overall it does a very good job in determining whether a try is legal or not.
Where I do have a problem is asking the on-field ref to guess first, thereby influencing the way the VR looks at it. They should just be allowed to make their own mind up based on the evidence in front of them.

| That was Wigan at full strength, needing to win, and playing at 'fortress' DW. With some appalling decisions thrown in for good measure.
I'm not concerned in the slightest.
