| Be very surprised if so. He is highly rated at Leeds and by McDermott. Under contract until 2017 so would incur a fee. Either way it would have been a fee involved due to his age and being club trained at Leeds.

| Surprised by this.He looked to have some real potential the little i saw of him, and he is still very young to make a final decision on a front rower.Of course if the player pushed for it its a different matter, but...

| He turned up to training last Monday and there was no kit for him. Somebody at the club had forgot to inform him that he had been released by Leeds. Not a nice way to treat a young player.

| Be surprised if Leeds have just released him but who knows. With Jordan cox having left rovers to wire I suspect this is the first bit of damage peacock has done to Leeds since the 2005 grand final.

Why would he have turned up to training when international players are not due back yet? He played for Ireland on 7th November.
I did hear loan deal mentioned but not permanent.

| Well miffed if true as he looked to have some real potential.
Was never given the opportunity whilst at Leeds.
I hope he rips it up at HKR and shows Leeds what a mistake they have made.
I thought he was well thought of at Leeds.

| But what realistically could Leeds offer him for next year? A loan spell with another club with no guarantee they wouldn't have moved on by the following year? At his age he'd at least want to be in the 25 I would have thought. If he's not then the club 'rating' him is pretty worthless in reality.

| I suspect with the Mullally and Galloway signings it was always realistically going to be one of Baldwinson or Mulhern for 2016. Whoever lost out was going to be seventh choice for four spaces in the matchday squad (or probably five until JJB/Ward returns).

| It would be great if we could keep every academy player who show potential but the fact is we cant, Its not fair on the player and its not in our best interests to hold them back either.
Leeds have in the main always done right by players (not always admittedly) and who knows, a change of scenery, a decent season in a new environment who's to say Leeds cant and wont be back for these players when they have had a bit more experience out in the world of RL.

| I'm sorry to see Mulhern leave. l thought he had the size & frame to develop into a first rate prop.
I fear that he will come back to bite us similar to Carvell.
I'd rather have kept him than Achurch.
I know Achurch is not a prop.
I wish Mulhern well.

Many - including me - would agree with you. And maybe that was the club's orginal plan but they couldn't find a taker for Achurch (plenty of rumours suggesting he was on his way out). Maybe they thought Mulhern would be well looked after by Jamie Peacock in the meantime until Achurch could be offloaded, but then were blindsided by Peacock and his new employer persuading him to sign on a permanent contract instead.
I just hope that Achurch has a blinder 2016 proving all his detractors wrong. He might even have a go at swatting off Escare on a touchline run.
