Eric Grothe always seems a popular choice in threads like this, probably because the season he played coincides with the time certain posters started watching the game, which is fair enough, but I don't see how you can pick an overseas 13 without putting Eric Harris in it.

The Eagle's absent scrum-half berth could have been filled by David Cruickshank, who left two remaining memories. 1 - getting sent off very early V St Helens at Headingley possibly at 0-0 (high shot on Paul Groves, IIRC) and Leeds playing arguably their greatest game of 12 man rugby league in their history and 2 - depositing 'last night's beer' all over Wilderspool, lovely.

Morvin was a decent player, and certainly brave. The amount of clothesline tackles he took I thought he must have been sleeping with the wives of half the Rugby League players across the north. |
