| Well remembered LA87, I think it's 50 years since Bradford Northern went under, to be rescued due to the efforts of the late, great Trevor Foster.
Northern's reformation ignited my first ever visit to a live RL match, been hooked ever since.
Though, sin of sins, I've since changed my allegiance from Northern to Leeds.

| I remember a last minute drop goal by Tea Ropati putting us out of the Cup in 199something... Too old to remember clearly...

It only gets worse, Loz.
Anyway, what a day that was. I don't think I've ever been so drained at the end of a game before. The drama of Sir Kev's conversion in normal time, and then (even though we'd almost certainly have won without it) the repeat at the end of extra-time.
From memory, don't we owe at least some of the win to a terrific Gary Connolly try saving tackle on our line?

almost 20 years now. incredible, i remember it so well.
Stood in the Kop end as wave after wave of Saints attacks broke down at the other end of the field and then Ellery's late brace sees us to Wembley.
After the final whistle all the Leeds fans invaded the pitch.as 15 year old lads me and my mate thought yeh lets do it.He side stepped a steward and unfortunately i got flattened by two! Still, my favourite memory of following Leeds pre-Super League.

What a day that was. I got seperated from the rest of my travelling party and made my way back to the mini-bus on my own. We were parked at the Water Wheel pub. The journey back over the tops was fantastic. I think we sang the whole way.

| It was one of the best games of the modern era. It had it all.
Didn't Matt Adamson play on with a broken jaw after Scully P cheap shoted him?

I must be getting old if I even got the competition wrong.
Yep, Leeds end. I was standing behind the sticks that day thinking this team will never win any silverware ever again...
Edit: apparently it was Sunday, November 8th, 1992. 15-14 to Saints, Jim Fallon and Gary Mercer scored tries for us...

| It only seems a short time ago that I was at Wembley...watching us win the Challenge Cup..two years running!!
However, those barren years of the 80's and 90's dragged at the time!
Thankfully a long distant memory now....but still one of the reasons this last decade has been so special.

When I think now about the 80s 90s now I feel like I've lost almost 20 years from my life.We had a few false dawns too

From memory, the false dawns in my time watching Leeds:
Crooks and Schofield joining, along with Gurr, Tunks, Morris and Jackson, beating Wigan in the JPS Trophy at Bolton
Winning the Yorkshire Cup
Gallagher joining (best player in the world!)
Laughton arriving, along with lots of signings
Getting to Wembley!
Murray turns up and shows what a real coach could do. He actually did manage to coax the sun above the horizon for a bit.
The semi-final in 2003.
Then came the real dawn (although in 2006 it started to feel like another false one, with comments like 'wasn't 2004 supposed to be the start of a dynasty?')
