George Burgess being linked with Wigan on a 3-year deal

I'm sure if we were in for him hed chose us over wigan, hes a leeds supporter. Let's hope we get him. Could have a JP signing effect imo

Maloney, Hastings and now looking like Burgess all to other SL clubs next year.

At the risk of repeating what's been said a thousand times, our recruitment in recent years has been appalling. I'm not convinced anythings changed.

I think Maloney was the one we NEEDED. I agree with you on the wants, but just think Maloney was exactly what was required for this club over the next two years, and would have had a bigger effect than any other player. I don't think it was worth going for three years, but two would have been perfect, and think that is probably the reason we lost out to Catalans.

Not bothered about missing out on Burgess at all. Might prove me totally wrong, but I think he's crocked. If he wasn't part of the family, Souths might not have even kept him so long. There are far better props in SL in my opinion, which is why he's missed out on the last couple of international squads.

To be fair Maloney has said his family would prefer to live in France. We probably couldn't even give him a firm offer right now - how would we handle cap and quota issues?

Not sure Burgess is worth mega bucks either.

He's the 3rd best Burgess anyway

George would be a terrific addition no doubt.. he is exactly the sort of prop we need alongside Ava

Sezer to the Giants? This is beyond a joke now our recruitment! Either the Gale story is true or we are just awful at recruitment! How many more players do we need to miss out on? We play for Hastings, we get Lui. Greenwood, Kasiano, Maloney, Burgess, Fifita, Johnstone, Savelio, Connor, Widdop, Austin, Walmsley, Charnley, ETC, there are many more and now Sezer. All these class players and we lose out.
