| Quote: Tony Soprano "I thought we looked good against Wigan but the other games have been poor.
Not all Leeds fans are running around screaming in blind panic, this time last year wigan put 50 on us at headingley, we are out of form and carrying a few knocks that's all, we certainly are not favorites to win it again just now but I imagine we will be putting up a good fight when the play offs start.'"
I think in patches you've been pretty good in all the games i've seen, which is why I think a lot of it is fatigue and players playing with knocks which I think Danny Maguire pointed out after the Wigan game. Without a doubt you'll be up there come end of season. I just hope we're in the mix too but having watched Hull for thirty years you'll probably hear the bubble burst from where your sat.

| McGuire was correct to speak out after the Wigan game. The squad has been high in quality but low in numbers from the outset, couple that with a coach who is reluctant to go much beyond his first choice fifteen - let alone outside the seventeen the collapse of human bodies was an inevitability without extreme good fortune. It's been a car crash waiting to happen, IMO.

| With regard to ageing players warrington look to be in a similar position to us.
Over at hull they have signed a young scrum half from Australia , be interesting to see how that works out on the basis if he has potential how come they are letting him go. Peter Gentle is no mug so they may come up trumps.
Both Gary Hethrington and Brian Mac are in for some testing times and decisions in the next few months in re vamping our squad.
Hopefully it will be cometh the hour cometh the man or men as the case may be. It least they will have the backing of everybody on this site. Good grief I have just witnessed a flying formation of pigs.

| The problem is that these "hard decisions" aren't being taken, and haven't been for the last couple of years.
Instead of building from a strong position, the CEO is content to wait until the wheels come off before trying to fix the wagon.

| Brisbane Rhino ,
Why is the re-signing of Kirk strange , he is a consistently good performer and has been for a number of years despite pathetic ramblings of some on here and certainly in a salary capped era represents good value for the wage he is on .

Do we know what wages players are on? would be interesting and I would be in favour of the same system they have in Ice Hockey where we can all see the the wages for players in relation to the salary Cap, mind you that Salary cap is currently close to $60m a year

No he isn't and now at 32 it's time to intergrate the younger forwards at the club especially as we've re-signed JP and Kylie and have increased the Chances of needing 2 front-line Props at once.
As for pathetic ramblings you're not watching the games properly for a 1st choice forward of his size and experience he's no better than Moore or Singleton and if it means keeping Singleton and even youngsters like Baldwinson ,Tonks and Mulhern id let Kirke go.
There comes a time when EVERY player has to either be moved on or the player himself makes taht call his wage whatever the figure would be better spent extending the youngsters deals now that's an opinion made on watching Kirke since he signed and most of the U19's games its not a pathetic rambling its an opinion built up from actually seeing the games and players involved nothing personal.
Also re-value for money how do you know what £££ he costs he's a 1st choice 17 player so won't be on buttons either.

What stronger position is there to build from than twice champions?
What better environment to blood the next generation of players?

A a first team player at leeds for 8 seasons now how much money do you think he is on? More than Singleton?
I asked if kirke would step up in the absence of Peacock. In the Hull game he made 7 carries. In the Wigan game he made 3 carries. In the Saints game he made 5 carries. I think the question has been answered.
He's a powder puff player who is scared of the ball. It is, frankly, criminal that successive coaches have accepted such a cowardly offensive work rate from a forward on such a consistent basis.
It depresses me greatly that I will have to watch the big cowardly lion hopefully share in the succeses earned by his hard working team mates for the next two years.
At least Singleton appears to show some appetite for the ball.

I refer you to the thoughts of this wise gentleman
I know, I know. And he was right (as well has handsome). Still have to vent my spleen at a forward who takes the ball up on average 4 times a game whilst accepting that somebody, somewhere knows better than I. Nobody on here does mind.
