I think McClelland will be the main backup for the halves, and Myler will be cover for Walker.

For me Mclellend replaces Lui & Myler stays as utility back up.

The only way he'll replace Lui is if Lui is injured for for some considerable time and he and the team plays so well that Agar has no alternative than to keep him at 6.

Walker needs to bulk up somehow for next season , way too injury prone at the moment, Konnie ,alternatively needs to trim down

I remember being nonplussed back in the day when Leeds signed Andrew Dunemann, when we had McGuire and Burrow waiting in the wings. In the end it wasn't a bad signing, and it helped us make the transition to our new half-back partnership. We also had Gary Connolly the year before Mathers broke through.

Hopefully the same will happen with the likes of Myler, Lui and Gale. They're all getting to the back ends of their careers and can't be relied on to play week-in, week-out, which should mean opportunities for McLelland. McGuire forced his way into the team, and hopefully McLelland will too.

I hear you but at present Lui is a far better option at 6 than Mclelland.I did on another thread say start Lui at 6 then move him to 13 and bring Mcleland on to 6 from the bench.That for mine is the only way Mclelland barring injuries will get a chance in the halfs.

I just dont see it with Lui mate especially when Cam Smith is fir he is our best 13 by far imo

Ageing Half backs moving to 13 Is a thing of the past, we may yet see a return to the ball playing 13 in the future at that may be Cameron Smith, but Lui will not move to 13

21 in two weeks, needs to show he is more than championships std when he gets his chance, regardless of opposition, he has not shown enough yet. This year will be pretty much a right off for the whole league, but if he cannot force a starting spot next year then he is probably never going to. Said the same about Cameron Smith at the start of thus season and he really stepped up this year and has been one of our best players. Hopefully his jaw heals quickly. Hopefully Mclelland steps up soon.
