| Quote: tad rhino "according to kevin the attitude was frankly crap, and everything was sloppy and slipshod. standards had dropped off the pitch and that reflected on it. if true there was only one person to blame. the coach at the time'"
Players too in my book. That was the value of players like Sinfield and Peacock - they were the ones that maintained those standards and led by example. They didn't coach the team as some claim but in hindsight it's pretty obvious where their real contribution lay - and where their successors are lacking. Even teams of limited talent can defend as if their lives depend upon it whereas ours doesn't any more.

| I was thinking next season. I dont think Jimmy Lowes is the long term plan. Sinfield can then get on with being the director of rugby with a coach who has good credentials. I like JL dont get me wrong.

| Quote: BrisbaneRhino "No. Some of the supposed issues with BM are exactly the same - refusal to delegate, to the point of paranoia about the relationship between assistant coach and players, attempting to do everything himself etc. The fact he's been dumped 4 games from finals with the Panthers well placed speaks volumes for how much of an issue he has become. The view is that the team goes out playing to his gameplan, goes well behind and then starts to play their own way, turning deficits over.
The Sinfield/Lowes partnership has delivered nothing so far. Thats hard on them but when you get a new coach you generally see some kind of positive response from the team at least in the shirt term - we're 1 win from 5 since they took over.'"
Don't believe everything you read from the Phil Could spin machine. The rumours have been there all year that Gus has been interfering in coaching and Griffin has been standing his ground so they've clashed - Gould is the General Manager and he has won the power battle.
Griffin has just given an outstanding and open interview on NRL360 where he gave a full breakdown of what happened.
Griffin set up the current junior develop systems at both Brisbane and Penrith- they both always had great junior numbers and teams, but weren't transitioning the juniors into NRL players. Both teams are now stacked out with superstars that have been developed internally - I think Griffin would be a fantastic appointment, who would really help Sinfield develop in his role and get this club back to producing top line talent through the junior systems. Both Penrith and Brisbane rely heavily on the juniors they produce, supplemented by a few high quality imports, that's exactly how we've been so successful.
I'd be going all out for Griffin.

I think what we saw, and seen and heard since, it is a high possibility we do know.

What i have seen are performances and results that are no better than before BM was sacked.

And no worse. But what has been heard tells a more telling story.

| No it doesn't. All that matters is what happens on the field. There has been zero improvement with the new coaching team.
Who cares what players etc are 'saying'. They come out with the same garbage every time we lose - working hard, focus on the next game, confident we can win blah blah blah. Frankly until things actually turn round where it counts, who cares what Sinfield is saying either?
9 times out 10 when a new coach is brought in you see a very fast bounce in performance. It may not last long, but you usually see something. Since Sinfield/Lowes took over we've won 1 game against by far the worst team in SL, competed against a mid table side and been hammered three times. There's no 'bounce' there, and frankly I'm past caring what players think, or whether they're happy little campers or not. All that matters is surviving this year and then rebuilding. If that means some players get upset sobeit.

| Kevin Sinfield looks too miserable with the situation to boost moral.
Is there no way you can get Burrow back?

| Sky Sports have just said that Anthony Griffin will be Leeds Rhinos head coach in 2019 below Kevin Sinfield.

Great news - will help make the club a better set up from the ground up. Watch our juniors flourish over the next few years.

Nope, sacked because he clashed with Gus Gould as he wouldn't let Gould dictate how the team should play and be coached. They made a play for Ivan Cleary (partly coz he's good, but mainly so they'll keep his son who's off contract next year and has stated he wants to play for his dad) and it was gonna come out in the media, so binned Griffin off as they knew the storm that was coming. Plus if he won the comp this year, which is a real possibility, they'd look ridiculous then sacking him at year end.
