| Well done to Cameron Smith - he really stood up to be counted
Good to see Walker back on the field - he is a different class, the best young player to emerge in SL for years
Monumental effort you know when you have out-fought a team when they start complaining about the referee!!

No chance Sutcliffe or Ward will be back?

| Gutted for Ash Golding, he’s a good player. Myler continues to shine, I wish McGuire had stuck around and been a half back partner for a season - they would have been amazing

| From 1-17 a tremendous effort imo & i thought all the bench contributed to a fantastic Team win.
I also think that could be a defining night for Cam Smith he put himself about & didn't look out of place which included a superb Try saving tackle late on.
Also Gotcha re-Handley & Ablett they were'nt as bad as you say imo we restricted ST's to 20pts which in itself was a huge effort imo.

| Tremendous result given the injury list and all the team stood up to the task.
Parcell played a crucial role in the second half with Moon equally influential throughout the game and who has developed into a very effective 6 using his combination of running ability, passing and kicking to great effect. His combination with the impressive Myler can only get better.
However the victory came as a result of a dogged and persistent defence which ground St Helens down and great credit has to go to JJB, Delaney and Singleton very well backed up by Ablett and Mullally. The character and never say die attitude of the side is their great credit and that of the coach who prepared and managed the side so well.
Cam Smith and Oledzki looked ok too

| Well i never saw that coming and put my 37-10 to Saints right out of the window.
I still thought we would lose even at half time which shows what i know.
A real gritty performance from 1 to 17 with some off the cuff plays to get us the win.
Feel for Golding if he is going to miss out for a few weeks but Walker is as good a replacement as you could wish for.
Whilst Walker is good I don't get this downer some folks on here have on Golding who imo has not put a foot wrong.
Watkins will be a huge miss next Friday. Was he concussed?

I agree with you regarding Golding who has earned the No 1 shirt.

There is nothing wrong with Golding, he is just not as good as Walker, simple as, exactly why Walker wanted the chance to fight it out for the spot. Golding would walk into most other sides at fullback, he is an able deputy here who won the shirt after Walkers injury with his own performances, and now for Walker to keep it by performance.

| I watched the game (Wakey fan) and thought JJB put a right shift in last night. Lead by example.

| Been a long time since I enjoyed a league game as much. Superb effort and great atmosphere at game.
Thought Singo and Mullalley was outstanding and have to disagree with Gotcha I thought Ablett was sensational last night. Made the hard yards time and time again bringing away from own line and worked his proverbials off. That back row is the base of the team. Non stop grit, effort and determination. I can't knock them ever.
I agree with people regarding Golding he never let's Leeds down is very reliable but Walker is different gravy for me. The kid is all class.
I would praise Luke Thompson of Saints. That lad had come on leaps and bounds last 18 months like Singo for us.
Got to praise McD for way he's brought Singo never rushed him while he was young and developing physically and mentally. Prop is a hard position. Let's hope he brings likes of Mikolaj and Holroyd on in similar ways. Stuart Fielden was rushed too early and his career was over too early.

Actually Mark, just seen stats and they were worse than I said. I knew they had missed a fair few crucial tackles, hence the comment, but didn’t appreciate how bad. Handley missed more tackles than he made, and I am sorry but in anyone’s book that is really poor. Ablett missed a further five tackles.
I did say despite the good, as I wasn’t Ignoring the good bits, but just pointing out their defence left a lot to be desired with the poor misses.

Quite right. 46 tackles and 12 carries. He does it most weeks and is a key part of the Leeds side.
I think only Clarke is averaging more tackles per game than JJB who has made 47.4 tackles per game after 5.

| Sorry Gotcha I agree with you on lots of things but I can't on Ablett last night. If you look at Barba's 2nd try Ablett had chased back 50 yards to make a desperate tackle on Barba missed tackle stats don't show that amount of effort it just shows missed tackle 1. That was after 70 mins of non stop grit, toughness, getting back to carry ball in on your own line, getting under oppositions skin and getting into referees ear also.
Stats might show a few missed tackles but it doesn't show the running blood to water to get in a position to make a tackle in 1st place.
Ablett for me was superb last night as he was at Warrington on the opening night. It was a great effort by all. Pride in the Leeds shirt in abundance so why pick up on a few negatives?

| A special mention for:
Child: "I called surrender and you played the ball too quick"
Ablett: "I played the ball too quick?!?"

Exactly - if your job depended on it who would you select?
IMO Golding is a very good player but Walker is an exceptional player
