| Quote: Juan Cornetto "Good to report that Owen Farrell who was one of my predictions for stardom, as you may recall, is selected at fly half for England v Australia tomorrow.
Fantastic stuff.
England currently beating Australia by 2 tries to 4.
Owen Farrell's boot by plenty!

| Given our esteemed Coach has admitted picking injured players too early it's about time our CEO found his nadgers & issued the p45.

| Mcdermot's like a dead man walking. Such is the severity of how bad this season has been it's hard to see GH continuing with him at season end, despite winning the treble last season, and if leeds got relegated it wouldn't even be up for debate.
Still, I'm sure cornetto will vehemently disagree and claim this season has been one the great tactical masterclasses from an uber coach in the same league as ferguson and bennett,

| I'd say the season has been that bad that BM's position as head coach is untenable. If its not I'd like to understand GH's reasoning.

| With all the disruption off field I reckon McD will be given next year to atone for this frankly disaster of a season.
Although I would expect a no holes barred season review that should be quite scathing of the procedures or lack therin of that have compounded problems this season I wont hold my breath, the excuses are strong in this one.

If he stays then I would expect a significant overhaul of the coaching structure - failure to do so would be a dereliction of care from the CEO.
You have to question why we seem incapable of producing young players through the academy.
That is before you start talking about the turgid output on the field.

That would be top of the list of priorities.

.
At the very least this should be done.....and this is on the assumption we don't yet end up relegated
(and I don't see much to convince me that is still not yet a real possibility ....despite the so called significant defensive improvement against an understrength Catalans team and a just as shiiite as us Salford team)

Whatever happens in the rest of the season, if there's no coaching change for next year I'd expect several thousand to be knocked off the season ticket numbers. Gary will then have a decision between his pride and his pocket.

A director of rugby who is capable of stepping in on an interim basis until a successor can be found if things go pear shaped who can set the agenda across the whole rugby environment. He will be responsible for hiring/firing, signings coaching appointments etc. Head coach reports into him/her.
A head of youth development - Sinfield would be an ideal candidate - who in conjunction with the director of rugby can set their own structure/strategies independent of the Head coach.
With this structure McDermott can stay - he lives/dies by results

| According to some BM has been behind a lot of the changes in the backroom in recent years. Why shouldn't he already be in a position to be held responsible for results?

Because he wasn't in any way responsible for us winning the treble apparently.

| He was as responsible as any coach ever is for our success. I'm certainly not one of those people who acts as though he was some kind of bystander whilst the team won competitions.
However, the point is you can't have it both ways. He's also just as responsible for the debacle of this year.
