| A huge amount of credit has to go to Jamie Peacock for that Barnstorming run so close to the end of the match...

The point that I had in my head, but didn't really put in my post, was that it was a huge Wakey team effort which nearly won the game for them. They were in the position they got because of the strategy of their side and their team effort.
We won, IMO, because we have far better individuals who have the ability to create something out of nothing when the pressure is on. That wasn't a strategic team win. We certainly didn't set out to win the game like that. If we'd have put in a team effort to match Wakey then we'd have won the game comfortably.
Scoring 6 tries to 4 sounds very conclusive. But the fact is that 2 of those tries came in the dying moments when we thought we'd lost. We got out of jail today and I think nearly everyone who watched that game will think that we robbed Wakey as much as the VR robbed us of a correct decision.

He also had nobody to play it to and was making no effort to get up. Pretty much every time in that situation you will see the same thing with the tackler taking time to get off - it suits attacker and defender usually. Seen it hundreds of times and seldom a penalty let alone a yellow.

Mentioned that to the guys at work this morning. He was tackled pretty much on half way, but the tackle ended up being completed on their 40, as he dragged 3 blokes along with him. It was on the next tackle that we ended up scoring, so you can make your own minds up as to how much the extra metres were worth.
Also, credit to Keith for the tackle before, where he gets to the 40m line in the first place.

| While we're giving respect to players, kudos to Matt Diskin who has had a ton of stick from some on here this season. I thought we didn't miss a beat with him at dummy half either side of the break and his run, multiple hand off and offload that helped create a try was the sort of thing that had Buderus done it would have left many on here with messy keyboards.

Nothing wrong with questioning a players form AG do you think he's been in good form this year????????
I certainly don't think he's played to the standards he's set himself although he was better on friday i agree.
However he did put a kick into the ingoal area on the 2nd/3rd tackle with no-one within 15/20 yards of it after we'd regained possesion from sinny's short kick off.

Whoop, one mistake.
I think his form has been nowhere near as bad as some people would make out. He's adjusting to picking up the pace of the game off the bench, he's also had a couple of niggly injuries to contend with. Personally I thought the early part of the year while Buderus was out that he was one of Leeds better players.

Then you watched a different game to me.
Diskin individually like you said did not have a bad game. But the team certainly suffered when Buderus went off, and only looked like winning it again when he returned. We more than missed a beat with that change.

Don't get me wrong i was just highlighting what i thought was a poor play just as you were with what he did well i don't think a fully on form disko would of read that situation the same way.
I agree and he admits it himself he's taken longer to adjust to his new role and he did start well in tandem with mcshane i guess it's easier to notice his standards drop when he's set them higher in the past.
Either way i think he can/will get better.

If I thought for a minute you were crediting Buderus with being the inspiration for Leeds late comeback I'd burst out laughing.
You're not, are you?

Not at all. Its a team effort. But Buderus organizing and movement of that team is far superior to the individual stuff that Diskin did.
Like I said, Individually I thought Diskin did well. But the team looked so much better with Buderus on than with Diskin on. Just has it had the week before, where again a large spell with Buderus off we were dominated.

Is that a downside to changing dummy half midway through the game?
It doesn't impact so much on Saints because Roby offers a different type of threat to Cunningham, but does changing dummy half (and changing delivery style of the pass, decision making etc) during the course of a game really bring more benefits than downsides?

100% agree with you.
It is not a Diskin put down. But Buderus is by far the superior of the two hookers. And since neither is an impact hooker, we end up with the scenario where the change is effecting the team.
There is most definately a massive reduction in any momentum we have when the change takes place. And probably would, as you are probably suggesting, even if it was the other way round, i.e. Buderus subbing.
