And 2004 and 2007. Can't see the sense in it tbh at all... i get the feeling he'd get rid of burrow which would be laughable.

I thought McGuire was very good last night (apart from the high shot) at scrum half, much more direct.

Yes agree there. He looked much sharper than he has been for a while. I thought Hall, Smith, Webb, Ali, Peacock, Senior and Sinfield were all very good last night. Although i would say Hull gave them too much room to play at times.

Giving them too much room, has more to do with Leeds controlling the ruck, and getting quick PTB, than Hull allowing us time and space

I would get rid of Burrow out of the 3, but I don't think we should get rid of any.

Eccleshill would most certainly say Sinfield. He has never really got the effect of Sinfield on this team.

My point is simple...Hull were very ordinary and made us look good. Don't really disagree with much of your comeback, my view is simply that we are not yet fully clicking into gear and last night could easily be a bit of a false dawn. I am a big fan of McGuire, Burrow and Sinfield - still don't think McGuire is 100% and looks to have lost a yard or two. Sinfield is absolutely crucial to the side.

I really don't understand the Diskin/Buderus idea their roles seem to duplicate rather than complement each other, with Diskin more a poor man's Buderus!

If any team is going to move forward they have to evolve and change style/patterns of play - look at Manchester Utd - they are constantly changing personnel and patterns of play - that is why they are the best have been for the best part of 15 years - Ferguson is a master at integrating players into a pattern and then changing the pattern to suit the players.

The Rhinos have stagnated as have Saints IMO - it is no suprise Saints are willing to let Long go - they know they cannot change with him in the side.

Of the three I would let Sinfield go or change the way he plays - move him into the second row with little/no playmaking involvement.

Yes I'd partly agree, but i thought Hull stood off too much on their goal line.

Probably the best passer of a ball out of the three - if anything he should be the one at first receiver dictating play and letting McGuire/Burrow operate off him the way Pryce does off Long.

Absolute boll*cks !!!! icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif More like he's coming to the end of his career and they have the salary cap to think about.

And re man utd - fergie only gets rid of big name players when players either think they're bigger than the club (ince, kancheslkis, stam, van nistelrooy) or past thier best (beckham).

''Move Sinfield to 2nd row with little/no playmaking involvment...'' icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif why on earth would you do that ?? Sinfields best traits are kicking game, tackling and creativity, his worst trait is his go forward ability... taking creativity away from him would be stupidity. Am i so glad your not the coach of the Rhinos.

I'd love to see you tell Mclennan or the Leeds players your 'grand plan' for Sinfield/getting rid of one of the 3...and see there faces icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

Andy it comes back to the point I made earlier we have stagnated and the gap between ourselves and other sides has narrowed - if we want to extend that gap again we have to fundamentally change the way we play.

Sinfield maybe a great passer but he is a very slow decision-maker and when he has options he is too slow to make the decision - that is why he is much better IMO when the options are reduced

Nope. He makes good points at times, and not afraid to put his head on the block.

But he has always had this weird thing about Sinfield. He can't see that the guy is aguably the most important player this club has ever had. And will go down in history as one of the legends.

We must agree to differ regarding Saints/Long - it is no coincidence that Potter has arrived seen whats there and Long is now surplus to requirements - teams have to evolve and if Potter wants to play a certain way then perhaps that is not possible with Long's playing style?

Manchester United have been constantly changing the way they play - Ferguson doesn't just get rid of big name players - he brings them in too - the biggest changes to that side has been the defence - how many big names has he got rid of recently to change that!!!! - none.

Sinfield's kicking game - that's a joke Leeds don't have a kicking game - did you go to the game last night? Tackling - like to look at his tackling stats re-missed tackle % this year - he will be pretty close to the top.

OK how would you progress the team and its style of play?

I disagree.

McGuire is much better at 1st receiver as last night shows. He is sill the most dangerous person on the field with ball in hand and the more he gets it the more he dictates how the game wll be played. I would have Burrow running off McGuire as he is good at splitting teams but is he a great organiser?

Anyway I have brought this point up before and raised it last night in my 3-2-1 thread. Also I see McGuire as a clone of Marshall. Thier games are so similar its uncanny. Anyway he has been moved to 7 at Wests this year and is playing the best stuff of his career so far. Thats because he is 1st reciever and gets to do things how he wants to and IMO thats how it should be for Danny.
