I hope this is it. Ward can take it easy on his body as a ball plying back rower now we have Martin to do the barge over stuff, would love to have a full season out of ward and have him show he can do it.

I’d personally move on cuthbo to either wakey or permanent women’s coach if it allows us to bring in maloney.

Whatever we end up doing, I just hope the squad is fit for purpose in time for next year. We had that great 2017 GF win which I'm not knocking, but that has been a blip between three really poor years.

I don't think we're far off now after a huge amount of change in a short time. Not sure we'll get Maloney, I can see Catalans snagging him. He would be a lot of money for a player at this end of his career - albeit clearly he's one of the best halves in the world on current form.

I’m pretty sure Maloney will be after Marquee money to come over here so the only way we get him IMO is if the clubs/SL vote in the 3rd marquee player allowance for next season, or god forbid, if Merrin ends up going home at end of this season

Ablett's recent absence has been due to a blood clot in his foot and being put on blood thinners as a result which means no contact due to risk of bleeding. That's presumably not a long-term problem though so I guess it comes down to when he's passed to play versus his plans on retiring anyway. Can't have that long left playing I wouldn't have thought but as far as I know he's expected back this season?
