| Dwyer has been better than Parcell the last few games. We won't miss Matty too much

I really like Dwyer and was surprised he came to you, then even more surprised he was playing at Fev, they got a good deal out of that.

| Letting Lilley go this season was a mistake imo. Although he is not the long term answer at half back he could have been useful in the qualifiers. We are so weak at half back, he would have been an improvement.

Smith could easily do that stand off role for this game. He is a decent pivot given the chance. Ward could play it too. I can’t see either been worse than what Moon and Sutcliffe have produced this year.

No way Cameron Smith could play half back - in friendly maybe.
He should be starting every game in the second row and should be playing big minutes - unless this happens how will we ever know if he is good enough.

I can only think that something has been said to Smith regarding needing to work on some aspect of his play / physique and they've taken him out of the limelight to work on it. The kid is head and shoulders (and chest and waist and legs and feet...) above the one you are referring to.

| Wasn’t too long ago most people on here seemed to be saying Smith wasn’t good enough.

I beg to differ. He was a damn good pivot, with an actually pretty good kicking game. Yes unfortunately they have tried to coach it out of him, but kid has a brain. I would back him against Toulouse. Of course not against super league sides, but would give It a go this week.
I agree he should be playing big minutes though.

I originally thought I would play Ward at 6 as he could do the job far better than Sutcliffe or Moon but decided our right side defense needs beefing up as a priority. So I went with Cuthbo at 6 as he has a good offload game and is aware.
But I do agree with you Smith could do the job very well and like Ward has experience in the 6 position and only a few games ago put in an excellent short kick for Briscoe to score (I think it was Briscoe)
What is clear is that Moon is leaving (or already mentally left) and has totally failed to provide the link or game management and has been hiding in the left centre position. Had Watkins been fit I would have dropped Moon by now and I say this as a previous big Moon fan, but he has let himself down badly this year.

| Hopefully the new Messiah will realise the value that Jimmy brings to this team , or will he also be blinded by Golden boys perceived yet never visible star quality ?
